GENERAL HOSPITAL SHOCKER: ENEMIES AVA AND KRISTINA BECOME THE DUO WE NEVER KNEW WE NEEDED

TL;DR: Ava Jerome and Kristina Corinthos-Davis are forced into an unlikely partnership after knocking out Ric Lansing and holding him hostage in Alexis’s basement, creating an unexpected dynamic that fans are comparing to Arya and The Hound from Game of Thrones.

OH. MY. GOD. Just when I thought I’d seen everything on daytime television, GH goes and gives us THIS twisted masterpiece! Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi)—two women who should absolutely DESPISE each other—are suddenly Port Charles’ most compelling duo, and I’m completely here for it!

Are Ava and Kristina Really Working Together?

Yes, Ava and Kristina are actually working together as co-conspirators after Ava knocked out Ric Lansing and they’re now holding him hostage in Alexis’s basement.

And folks, this isn’t some fake alliance or temporary truce. These two are LITERALLY partners in crime now! After Kristina sabotaged what she thought was Ava’s car (plot twist: it was Ric Lansing’s (Rick Hearst) vehicle!), everything spiraled into this glorious mess. When Ric threatened to send Kristina to prison, Ava did what Ava does best—she knocked him out cold! Now they’re stuck together, hiding an unconscious attorney in Alexis Davis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) basement.

Talk about mutually assured destruction!

Why Are Fans Comparing Them to Arya and The Hound?

The comparison to Game of Thrones’ Arya Stark and Sandor “The Hound” Clegane is spot-on because both pairings feature a cynical, world-weary veteran forced into an alliance with a younger, volatile character during a dangerous journey.

I mean, COME ON! The parallels are absolutely uncanny! You’ve got Ava—the seasoned criminal who’s murdered, manipulated, and survived everything Port Charles has thrown at her—suddenly stuck with Kristina, the impulsive mob princess who’s been shielded from the worst of her family’s business. It’s literally the same energy as The Hound dragging Arya through Westeros!

But here’s where it gets REALLY interesting…

Unlike Arya and The Hound’s redemptive arc, this pairing is pure corruption. Ava isn’t mentoring Kristina toward survival—she’s dragging her down to her level! Every scene they share, you can see Kristina learning the cold, calculated approach to crime that Ava has perfected over decades.

The chemistry between Maura West and Kate Mansi? ELECTRIC!

Is This Alliance Actually Working Despite Their History?

Shockingly yes, the alliance is working despite Ava being responsible for Morgan Corinthos’s death by tampering with his bipolar medication.

This is what makes their partnership so INSANE and so brilliant! Morgan Corinthos was Kristina’s beloved brother, and Ava literally contributed to his death by messing with his meds. That’s the kind of history that should make this alliance impossible. But desperation makes strange bedfellows, and these two are DESPERATE!

The way they’re navigating around this massive elephant in the room while trying to figure out what to do with Ric? Chef’s kiss! You can feel the tension crackling between them in every scene. One minute they’re cooperating, the next you can see Kristina fighting the urge to strangle Ava with her bare hands.

Fans on social media are losing their MINDS over this dynamic!

What’s Next for Ava and Kristina?

Could this mean Kristina finally embraces her dark mob princess destiny? Don’t be surprised if Ava’s influence pushes her over the edge! Given Kristina’s fragile emotional state after losing the surrogate baby, this alliance could trigger a complete mental breakdown. If spoilers are accurate, Ric might not survive this hostage situation, which would bind these women together through murder.

Reading between the lines, I see two possible outcomes here. Either Kristina becomes the hardened criminal Ava is molding her into—a true Jerome-Corinthos hybrid monster—or she completely self-destructs trying to escape what she’s becoming. There’s also speculation that Kristina might target Avery, Ava’s daughter, if she snaps completely.

My gut tells me this ends with Kristina in Ferncliff or prison. But not before we get some of the most compelling television GH has produced in YEARS!

Will This Partnership Last or Explode Spectacularly?

Given their psychological incompatibility and history, this alliance will definitely explode—the only question is how catastrophically.

Let’s be real—this partnership has “ticking time bomb” written all over it! Ava is cold, calculated, and will throw anyone under the bus to save herself. Kristina is emotional, impulsive, and carrying enough grief and rage to fuel a small army. Mix those personalities together while they’re committing felonies?

BOOM!

Something tells me Lucas Jones is already getting suspicious (he’s reportedly “opening up to Ava” soon), and once Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) finds out his daughter is in cahoots with the woman who killed his son? The fallout will be NUCLEAR!

Quick Answers for GH Fans

Q: Is this really like Arya and The Hound? A: Structurally yes, but thematically it’s the opposite—this is corruption, not redemption, and it’s DELICIOUS!

Q: Could Ava and Kristina actually become friends? A: Friends? No. But they’re developing a twisted respect that’s absolutely fascinating to watch unfold on screen.

Q: Will Ric survive being held hostage? A: Spoilers suggest he might not make it, which would turn our duo from kidnappers into killers—talk about raising the stakes!

The fact that fans went from “Ava needs to pay!” to “Actually, can we get more Ava and Kristina scenes?” in record time tells you everything about how brilliant this pairing is. It’s toxic, it’s wrong, it’s absolutely inappropriate given their history—and it’s EXACTLY what makes it perfect soap opera gold!

Mark my words: we’re watching Kate Mansi and Maura West create daytime history here. This unholy alliance between Ava and Kristina isn’t just the duo we never knew we needed—it’s the duo that’s going to fundamentally change both characters forever. And whether Kristina emerges as Port Charles’ newest villain or ends up in a straightjacket, one thing’s certain…

We’ll never look at either character the same way again!
