Here’s the situation: Anna is being held captive in some kind of apartment-cell by Sidwell and a mystery man who is apparently the WSB Director, Ross Cullum. She found a copy of Faison’s novel dedicated to her tucked under her food tray like the world’s worst fortune cookie. And then — AND THEN — Cesar Faison’s voice came over the intercom claiming he’s alive and they’re going to “spend the rest of their lives together in their new home.”
Cool. Cool cool cool. Everything is fine. We’re fine.
But here’s the detail that has us absolutely feral: the mystery man specifically told Pascal that Anna cannot see his face. Why? Cesar Faison Literally Has a History of Wearing Other People’s Faces
For the uninitiated — or for those who have simply blocked out the trauma — let us remind you that Cesar Faison is basically the patron saint of identity theft via prosthetics. This man wore Duke Lavery’s face for MONTHS in 2012, fooling Anna into believing her dead husband had returned from the grave. He romanced her. He kissed her. He made her believe she had her soulmate back. And the whole time, it was her deranged stalker wearing a silicone mask so realistic that Robert Scorpio had to throw HOT WATER on Faison’s face to melt it off.
Let that satisfying visual sink in. Hot water. To melt the face. This is the show we watch for fun!
Faison also wore Luke Spencer’s face in 2014, because apparently one face-swap per decade wasn’t enough for this man’s unhinged bucket list. The technology exists within the GH universe, it’s been used successfully multiple times, and Faison’s “old colleagues” — the same ones who smuggled Britt out and faked her death — clearly still have access to it.
So when the mystery man tells Pascal that Anna absolutely cannot see his face? Our alarm bells aren’t just ringing. They’re having a full orchestral meltdown.
What If Cullum Is Wearing Faison’s Reconstructed Face?
Here’s where we descend into delicious speculation territory, so buckle up.
What if WSB Director Cullum — or someone else within Faison’s old DVX network — is literally wearing Cesar Faison’s reconstructed face to continue his twisted legacy? Those old colleagues clearly have resources, international connections, and zero ethical boundaries. If they can fake a death and force Britt to work on Cold Fusion research with a medication leash, they can definitely commission a creepy prosthetic face.
The voice over the intercom could be psychological warfare phase one. Get Anna disoriented. Make her question reality. Remind her of every terrifying moment Faison put her through over the past three decades. And then, when she’s at her weakest, the grand finale: “Faison” walks into her cell wearing that face she’s seen in her nightmares since 1990.
It would absolutely destroy her. And given that the mystery man told Pascal they need a “more permanent solution” to the Anna problem, destruction might be exactly what they’re going for.
The Real Question: Whose Face Is Under the Mask?
If someone IS wearing Faison’s face, who is actually underneath it? Is it really Cullum, the WSB Director who’s apparently gone rogue? Is it someone from Faison’s DVX days who worshipped him enough to literally become him? This is General Hospital, where death is more of a suggestion than a rule, and Cesar Faison has always been particularly bad at staying dead. The man is like a cockroach with a cigar and an obsession problem.
When Anna finally sees that face — and she will, because this is building to something massive — we’re either going to scream, cry, or throw our remote at the television. Possibly all three. Port Charles better buckle up.
