DANIEL GODDARD’S SHORT-TERM RUN AS PROFESSOR HENRY DALTON ENDS WITH A BANG—LITERALLY

Professor Henry Dalton’s Crimes Finally Caught Up With Him
Professor Henry Dalton’s days were numbered the moment he drunkenly confessed to Josslyn that he was conducting illegal animal testing. Emma had suspected him from the start, and her instincts were SPOT-ON. After his confession, Dalton hightailed it to Wyndemere to meet with his co-conspirator Sidwell, where Britt made it crystal clear that the professor had become a liability. She was furious that Dalton had lied to the police about Rocco destroying his lab during the recent break-in, and she told Sidwell that Dalton needed to go. Sidwell agreed—and calmly shot Dalton in the chest.
Executive Producer Frank Valentini confirmed Goddard’s exit from GH, saying he enjoyed working with the actor and appreciated what a good job he did with what was always a short-term role. Daniel Goddard originally auditioned for General Hospital back in 2005 for the role of Patrick Drake, which ultimately went to Jason Thompson. Goddard spent over a decade on The Young and the Restless as Cane Ashby before finally landing in Port Charles this past April.
Braedyn Bruner, who plays Emma, praised Goddard when he first joined the show, saying he came in with confidence and charm that was perfect for the character. Goddard returned the compliments, noting how professional and genuine Bruner was despite being relatively new to such an important legacy role. Interestingly, Goddard previously worked with Genie Francis on Y&R, where she played his character Cane’s mother. On GH, they played a VERY different dynamic as mayor and corrupt professor.

Dalton Left A Mess Behind In Port Charles
Even though Professor Dalton appears to be dead, his impact on Port Charles isn’t going anywhere. He goaded Mayor Laura Collins into smacking him in public, potentially tanking her reelection campaign. More importantly, his lies about Rocco destroying his lab have landed the teenager in serious legal trouble. Dalton’s false accusations were particularly VICIOUS—Rocco was just trying to expose the professor’s illegal activities, and Dalton threw him under the bus to cover his own crimes.
Dalton was revealed to be working with Sidwell and Britt on mysterious research at the Five Poppies, conducting illegal animal testing that Emma had been trying to expose. His manipulation of both Josslyn and Emma created rivalry and tension between the two young women, and his academic position gave him credibility he absolutely didn’t deserve. Now that he’s gone, will the truth about his operation finally come out?
GH Spoilers: Will Sidwell And Britt Face Consequences?
The big question now is whether Sidwell and Britt will face any consequences for Dalton’s murder. Britt was the one who called him a liability and suggested he needed to be eliminated, and Sidwell pulled the trigger without hesitation. Will someone discover what happened at Wyndemere, or will they pin Dalton’s death on someone else? Given how much General Hospital loves a good frame-up storyline, it wouldn’t be SURPRISING if an innocent person gets blamed.
Rocco is already in legal hot water because of Dalton’s lies, so could the teen end up accused of murder too? That would be peak GH drama—frame the kid for destroying the lab AND killing the professor. Meanwhile, Laura’s political career hangs in the balance after Dalton manipulated her into assaulting him in public. The professor may be dead, but his schemes will haunt Port Charles for a while.
Daniel Goddard Flies Home For Father’s Funeral
On a personal note, Daniel Goddard recently lost his father and flew back to Australia for the funeral. The actor shared his gratitude on Instagram for the outpouring of condolences and support from fans during this difficult time. Goddard thanked everyone for their compassion and said he had no idea how much the love and support meant to him during this tragedy.
