LULU FORGOT DANTE FALCONERI SOLVES CRIMES FOR A LIVING

TL;DR: Dante Falconeri figured out that Rocco shot Cullum, Jason took the fall, and Nathan helped Lulu cover the whole thing up on General Hospital. He figured it out from a paper trail, not from his ex. Tonight Dante asked Lulu one question on his way out. She did not have an answer.

Dante Was the Last to Know in His Own Family

Dante Falconeri is the acting police commissioner of Port Charles. He is the father of Lulu Spencer‘s son. He has stood in her kitchen, sat through her birthdays, and shown up for that boy every single time Lulu has needed him to. And when their teenage son committed a felony, Lulu’s first instinct was to keep Dante out of it.

That is the take.

Tonight on General Hospital, Dante Falconeri walked into Lulu’s house already knowing that Rocco Falconeri shot Ross Cullum, that Jason Morgan took the fall, and that Nathan West helped Lulu run the cover up. He had figured it out from the evidence. He did not figure it out from his ex of two decades or the woman he co-parents with or the cop he works alongside. He figured it out the way he figures out other people’s crimes. Alone.

Lulu’s Reasons Do Not Cover the Real Question

Lulu had reasons. She always has reasons. Rocco got hurt last time. The WSB is dangerous. She panicked. Sure.

Here is what those reasons do not explain. Why was Nathan in the room? Why did Lulu trust her current boyfriend with her son’s secret before she trusted the boy’s father? Why did the head of the PCPD have to play detective on his own family because the mother of his child did not feel like inviting him to the conversation?

Lulu did not protect Rocco from Dante. She protected herself from a difficult conversation with Dante. Those are not the same thing. And every fan who has ever watched a Logan woman talk herself into a decision she should not be making clocked it the second she opened her mouth.

A Screaming Match Would Have Been Easier

The whole confrontation was quiet. That was the worst part.

Dante did not give Lulu a screaming match. Dante gave Lulu a sentence. You do not have to protect him from me.

That sentence is the whole case. That sentence says, I am his father, I am yours in the co-parenting sense, you know what kind of man I am, you decided I was a danger anyway. Whatever Lulu and Dante had left as Rocco’s parents, she ended it the day she made that call.

She did not have a counter. There is no counter to that.

Nathan Is in More Trouble Than Lulu

Now for the part everyone is going to miss. Lulu is in trouble. Nathan West is in more trouble.

Nathan helped a civilian hide a felony from his own boss. Nathan participated in a cover up against the acting police commissioner. Nathan is a sworn officer who watched a colleague be quietly defrauded by his own family for months and said nothing. Lulu can plead motherhood. Nathan cannot plead anything.

When Dante Falconeri eventually gets in a room with Nathan, and he will, it is not going to be a personal fight. It is going to be a commissioner reviewing a subordinate’s career. And Lulu, who pulled Nathan into this whole mess to spare herself a conversation with Dante, gets to watch the man she chose lose everything he built. Because she trusted him with a lie she should have told Dante months ago.

Outside, Charlotte Cassadine came home to find Rocco sitting on the porch, refusing to walk into the house where his mother and father had stopped being a team. That kid is going to crack. The only question is which direction he breaks, and none of the options are good for Lulu.

Dante Falconeri did not yell. He did not break anything. He asked Lulu one question on his way out the door, knowing she did not have the answer.

I don’t know how we come back from this, do you?

She didn’t. He already knew that. That is why he asked.
