TL;DR: A General Hospital fan named Debra Oliveras wrote in with some hot takes about Drew Cain and Willow Tait. She says Drew is extreme and vengeful, and Willow should have divorced Michael BEFORE taking up with his uncle. The lack of respect started this whole mess.
A Reader Sounds Off About Drew Cain and Willow Tait
We love hearing from our readers, and Debra Oliveras did NOT hold back when she wrote in about Drew Cain and Willow Tait. Her letter hit our inbox and we knew we had to share it with the class.
Debra writes: “It’s the way he deals with each problem that comes along, with each person that comes along. The way he handles it centers around him. The way he deals with things is extreme and vengeful.”
She’s not wrong! Drew Cain has made a career out of escalating every conflict until it becomes a full-blown war. He doesn’t compromise. He doesn’t back down. Everything centers around what Drew wants, and everyone else is collateral damage.

Going After His Nephew’s Wife Was a Choice
Debra didn’t mince words about Drew Cain pursuing Willow while she was still married to Michael.
“He lost it when he went after his nephew’s wife,” Debra writes. “Very poor choice, that never should’ve happened.”
And honestly? The woman has a point. Drew Cain could have pursued literally ANYONE in Port Charles. Instead, he chose his nephew’s wife. He chose the mother of Michael’s children. He chose the one person guaranteed to blow up his entire family. That’s not just messy. That’s a declaration of war.
Willow Tait Should Have Handled Things Differently
But Debra isn’t letting Willow Tait off the hook either. She had plenty to say about how Willow handled her marriage falling apart.
“Willow should’ve went to Michael, said things aren’t going well between us. Go for separation or divorce. Get custody settled. THEN take up with Drew.”
This is the part that gets us. Willow had options. She could have been honest with Michael. She could have ended things respectfully before starting something new. Instead, she blew up her marriage in the most chaotic way possible and now she’s lost custody of her kids and is on trial for shooting Drew.
It All Comes Down to Respect
Debra’s final point is the one that really stings.
“That lack of respect for one another, that started the ball rolling.”
She’s absolutely right. If Drew Cain had respected Michael enough to stay away from his wife, this family wouldn’t be at war. If Willow Tait had respected Michael enough to be honest about her feelings, they could have ended things without destroying everyone around them.
But nobody respected anybody. And now Port Charles is dealing with the fallout. Thanks for writing in, Debra. The GH girlies have THOUGHTS and we love to hear them!
