Here’s where things get complicated for longtime viewers. Because let’s be honest — Drew Cain hasn’t exactly been a saint lately, has he?

This is the same man who spent most of 2025 blackmailing Portia Robinson, desecrating the Quartermaine family crypt, and engaging in political corruption that would make even Sonny Corinthos raise an eyebrow. The Navy SEAL hero we once knew had completely transformed into someone unrecognizable.

But watching him lie there, completely helpless, while Willow torments him with that fake concerned expression? Something about it feels deeply, disturbingly wrong.

Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) actually suggested that Drew Cain could change — that this tragedy might be the thing that finally snaps him back to who he used to be. And honestly? Part of me wants to believe her.

Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) isn’t buying it though. He pointed out that Drew didn’t change after getting shot back in September, so why would a stroke be any different? It’s a fair question. Some people are just too far gone.

But here’s the thing — getting shot was a crisis Drew could muscle through. This Locked-in Syndrome situation? There’s no muscling through THIS. Meanwhile, Willow is out here “playing dirty” and making “big moves” while Drew can’t do a single thing to stop her. She’s got access to his finances, his connections, and his reputation — all while the man himself watches helplessly from his hospital bed.

But here’s what Willow might not be considering: soap opera characters in Locked-in states have a funny way of eventually recovering. And when Drew Cain finally gets his voice back? He’s going to have A LOT to say about his “loving wife.”

Something tells me this whole arrangement is going to blow up spectacularly. The only question is how much damage Willow can do before that happens.
