Erika Slezak Wraps Her General Hospital Guest Run

Slezak has officially wrapped her time on General Hospital as Ronnie Bard, Monica Quartermaine’s sister. The soap legend, best known for her iconic portrayal of Viki Lord on One Life to Live, made her GH debut on September 26 and concluded filming the same day.

Slezak shared a heartfelt message with fans through her website: “Thank you so much for all your emails. I am delighted that you’ve been enjoying my work on General Hospital. I am very grateful for the kind words you have shared with me.”

The actress continued, “It was wonderful to work again in a medium I love. My experience on GH was fantastic, and I hope you continue to enjoy the show. GH has an incredible group of actors and writers, and I am honored to have been part of it. Many sincere thanks for watching.”

Ronnie Bard’s Impact On The Quartermaines

Erika brought emotional depth to the Quartermaine family as Ronnie Bard, Monica’s estranged sister. Her character arrived in Port Charles after inheriting Monica’s estate, including the iconic Quartermaine mansion.

Ronnie’s presence shook up the family dynamics and created major storylines involving Tracy Quartermaine, Drew Cain, and other Port Charles residents. The character’s decision to sell the Quartermaine mansion to Drew created explosive drama for the family.

Slezak’s performance brought gravitas and emotional complexity to Ronnie, making her a memorable addition to the GH canvas during her guest appearance.

Erika Slezak’s Legendary Soap Career

Erika Slezak is a soap opera legend, having portrayed Viki Lord on One Life to Live from 1971 until the show’s cancellation in 2012. She won six Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for the role, more than any other performer in that category.

Slezak’s Viki was one of daytime television’s most beloved characters, and her portrayal of the character’s dissociative identity disorder storyline is considered one of the greatest performances in soap opera history.

After One Life to Live ended, Slezak largely retired from acting, making her General Hospital guest appearance particularly special for longtime soap fans. Seeing the daytime icon back on screen was a treat for viewers who grew up watching her work.
