Cameron Mathison Stuns Fans: Could Drew and Willow Be The Next Luke and Laura?

In a jaw-dropping interview that has the General Hospital fandom buzzing, Cameron Mathison made waves at this year’s Christmas-Con by comparing the controversial Drew and Willow romance to one of soap opera’s most iconic couples – Luke and Laura. Speaking exclusively with Soap Hub’s Bryan Beckley, Mathison didn’t just defend the contentious pairing – he predicted they could be Port Charles’ next supercouple!

BOMBSHELL PREDICTIONS AT CHRISTMAS-CON

“Are you ready for this?” Mathison teased during the interview, before dropping his stunning revelation. “I would like Drew and Willow to take it to the next level. They love each other, well, Drew loves Willow. I’m not sure that Willow is 100% sold on Drew yet.”

The actor’s bold prediction comes at a particularly explosive time in Port Charles. Recent episodes of General Hospital saw Drew and Willow’s night of passion exposed by Tracy to the entire Quartermaine family, creating absolute chaos. Willow fled to Nina’s with the children, while Michael plots revenge alongside Curtis to strip Drew of his control over Aurora.

FROM SCANDAL TO SUPERCOUPLE?

Despite the current turmoil, Mathison remains optimistic about the pairing’s future. “I think it’s like a super couple in the making,” he declared. “I know everybody’s going to think I’m nuts, but just wait. You guys are going to love Willow and Drew, eventually.”

The actor explained his character’s recent behavioral shift, noting, “Drew has kind of a different perspective these days, from having almost dying in prison, and doing it for Carly, then Carly dumping him and the Quartermaines trying to get rid of him.”

A CONTROVERSIAL COMPARISON

In perhaps his most startling comment, Mathison drew parallels between Drew and Willow’s story and that of legendary couple Luke and Laura. “Think about how Luke and Laura started?” he reminded fans, referencing their controversial 1979 beginnings. Despite their problematic start, Luke and Laura went on to become what Mathison calls “the ultimate supercouple.”

While Drew currently ranks low on Port Charles’ popularity list due to his manipulative moves in business, politics, and romance, Mathison seems convinced that redemption – and possibly epic love – lies ahead for his character and Willow.

“So you never know,” Mathison concluded enigmatically, leaving fans to wonder if he might be right about this unlikely pair’s potential.
