General Hospital
Adoption Drama, Back-Seat Kidnappings, and a Bridge Burned on a Marriage! General Hospital Moments That Shocked Us This Week
General Hospital served us five gasp worthy moments this week from a Wyndemere standoff to a Tracy bridge burn at the boathouse.
GENERAL HOSPITAL PULLED FIVE BOMBSHELLS THAT REFUSED TO LET PORT CHARLES CATCH ITS BREATH
TL;DR: General Hospital came back from a holiday weekend swinging and never let up. From a partnership cracking open in a Wyndemere living room to a kidnapping pulled off from the back seat of a parked car, the writers spent this week pushing every chess piece on the board and we are still recovering.
Cassius Stepped In Front of Sidwell’s Gun and Officially Chose Joss
Save your hearts. After Jenz Sidwell caught Josslyn Jacks trying to escape Wyndemere with a “Clever girl, nice try!” he pulled a gun on her in his own living room. When Joss called his bluff and asked if he was really going to shoot her in the middle of his living room, Sidwell shrugged and said, “Yeah, because I’ve never done that before!”
Then Cassius walked in and STEPPED IN FRONT of the barrel.
He told Sidwell that if he hurt Joss, their partnership was OVER. Sidwell threatened to make Cassius expendable, and Cassius did not flinch. Ryan Paevey playing a man who has spent months living inside someone else’s life finally choosing the captive over the kingpin was the kind of acting General Hospital gets right when the writers and the cast are in lockstep.

Cullum Nabbed Liesl From the Back Seat of Her Own Car and We Lost Our Minds
The Friday cliffhanger of the YEAR. Liesl Obrecht, freshly back from Crimson where she had spent the afternoon planning a karate red belt party for her grandson James, slid into her car talking on the phone about Britt. The camera pulled back. Ross Cullum was sitting in the back seat.
That is it. That is the scene. End of episode. ROLL CREDITS.
General Hospital lulled us into a false sense of comfort with a karate party setup, then snatched one of the most beloved legacy characters on the show right out of the safest place she should be. With Britt Westbourne still in the wind, Cullum needs leverage, and Mama Obrecht is the most powerful card he could play. Stephen Martines is unhinged. Kathleen Gati is going to make a meal of whatever happens next.
Ethan Lovett Asked Alexis to Lock the Adoption Closed and Bury His Own Name
You knew this one was coming. After Apollo flipped on Ethan Lovett with that photo last week, Ethan walked into Alexis Davis’s office and finally came clean about Phoebe. He and Delilah Wilson hooked up once. Six months later she called him in France to say she was pregnant. They agreed to meet in Port Charles. He was delayed, and by the time he arrived, Delilah had died and her daughter was already in Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s arms.
What Ethan wants now is the most devastating ask of the year. A CLOSED adoption. Records sealed. Nobody, not Brook Lynn, not Harrison Chase, not Phoebe herself, will ever know he was the father. He says Phoebe deserves the parents he never had growing up in an orphanage. Nathan Dean is delivering the most quietly gutting performance on daytime right now.
Sonny Appeared in Pascal’s Car Window With Jumper Cables Like a 1980s Action Hero
Pascal Levac thought he was getting away. After flipping on Sidwell, packing his butler bag, and making it to the mainland, Pascal slid into a car ready to disappear into the wind. The engine would not turn over. He tried again. Nothing.
And then Sonny Corinthos appeared in the driver’s window with jumper cables in his hand and a smirk on his face. “Need a lift?”
There is a reason Maurice Benard has been doing this for almost forty years. The man delivered a Thursday cliffhanger with the energy of a Cary Grant scene from a 1955 thriller, and we cheered. General Hospital has been letting Sonny play offense again this whole arc and it is paying off in spades.
Tracy Quartermaine Tried to Blow Up Brook Lynn’s Marriage Right in Front of Her
This was MESSY in the best way. Tracy Quartermaine, having spotted Chase and Willow Tait sharing what she decided was an intimate moment at the boathouse, walked up to her granddaughter’s husband and announced, “You have cheated on my granddaughter for the very last time.” Chase swore he had not cheated. Tracy did not care. She told him to pack his bags, prenup in hand, and lawyer up.
Then she made him CALL Brook Lynn down to the boathouse so she could deliver the verdict in person. Tracy told Brook Lynn that even if Chase had not cheated yet, he WAS going to. Brook Lynn picked her husband. But the suspicion Tracy planted has now sent Brook Lynn straight into Lucy Coe’s lair scheming a counterattack. Jane Elliot stirring this pot with a wooden spoon she has been holding for decades is daytime royalty at her finest.
Honorable Mentions That Earned Their Flowers Too
Carly Blamed Jack for Putting Joss in Danger and Walked Out
After putting the pieces together that Joss had been on the mission to take down Sidwell and Cullum the whole time, Carly Spencer marched into Turning Woods and told Jack Brennan she would NEVER forgive him for risking her daughter’s life. She stormed out. Jack, who can barely move, looked like he was about to cry. Charles Mesure delivering silent devastation from a hospital bed is the kind of performance General Hospital is built on.
Nina Shot Drew’s Meds Into a Plant in Front of Jack and Flipped Sides
Nina Reeves walked into Turning Woods, pulled out the syringe, and Jack thought he was done. Instead, she shot the dose INTO A POTTED PLANT and told him she was betraying her own daughter to help him take down Sidwell. Then she dropped the bomb about Carly hiding Valentin Cassadine AND sleeping with him. Cynthia Watros is having the year of her LIFE.
Which moment do you think rocked Port Charles the hardest, Cullum’s back-seat ambush or Tracy’s boathouse bridge burn? Sound off below because we have a feeling this comment section is about to be a lot!
