The Emotional Setup

Oh. My. Goodness. Port Charles just got hit with ALL the feels, and I’m not sure any of us were ready for it! The latest General Hospital episodes have been serving up some seriously emotional moments, especially surrounding our girl Sam McCall. And let me tell you, these aren’t just your regular run-of-the-mill soap opera scenes!

You know how sometimes you can just feel something big coming? That’s exactly what’s happening right now in Port Charles. Sam is preparing to donate part of her liver to Lulu Spencer, and while that’s already major enough on its own, there’s something about these scenes that feels… different. Like, grab-your-tissues-and-hold-onto-your-heart different.

Spinelli’s Tearjerker Moment

Let’s talk about that scene with Spinelli on Tuesday’s episode – talk about a tear-jerker! The interaction between Sam and her longtime friend hit differently than their usual banter, and fans couldn’t help but notice it felt an awful lot like a goodbye.

The Pre-Surgery Gathering

Thursday’s episode? That’s when things really got intense. Picture this: Sam’s being prepped for her liver transplant surgery, and who shows up? Just about everyone who matters in Port Charles! We’re talking the whole crew – Dante and little Rocco Falconeri, Sam’s kids Scout and Danny, mama Alexis Davis, Laura Collins, the Corinthos power couple Sonny and Carly, and of course, Jason Morgan. It was like a who’s who of Port Charles gathered to support our girl!

Kelly Monaco’s Unscripted Moment

But here’s where it gets really interesting – and trust me, this is the part that had fans absolutely losing it! As Lucas was wheeling Sam into surgery, she did something completely unplanned. In a moment of pure emotion, Kelly Monaco went off-script and added her own touch to the scene – throwing up the “I love you” sign language symbol as she was being wheeled away. Not a dry eye in the house, I tell you!

How do we know it wasn’t planned? Well, here’s the tea – when a fan took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask about that heart-wrenching moment, Kelly Monaco herself confirmed it wasn’t in the script. Talk about an actress knowing exactly what her character would do in that moment!

Fan Reactions and What’s Next

This whole week has been an emotional rollercoaster for Sam fans, and honestly? It feels like we’re all just holding our breath, waiting to see what happens next. The way these scenes are playing out, especially with that unscripted gesture… well, let’s just say it’s got everyone talking about what might be coming around the corner for Sam McCall.

If they weren’t going to bring the original Lulu back then they should have just let her die. I don’t understand why they’ve brought in so many actors when they’ve made the existing actors take pay cuts. No wonder Kelly quit.
