FANS DISAPPOINTED AS BASEBALL COVERAGE REDUCES EPISODES THIS WEEK

TL;DR: GH fans face a shortened week with only two or three episodes due to MLB Wild Card Series coverage. Tuesday and Wednesday will for sure have interruptions while Thursday and Friday depend on baseball game outcomes.

GH Takes a Baseball Break

Port Charles drama is taking a backseat this week as General Hospital faces schedule disruptions due to Major League Baseball postseason coverage. ABC TV executive Nathan Varni confirmed the news on X (formerly Twitter), posting:

“Due to MLB daytime games this week, new episodes of #gh will air Monday, Thursday & Friday. Thursday is tentative based on Wed’s game results. Sorry for the interruptions, have a great week!”

What’s the Schedule This Week?

Fans can expect only two to three new General Hospital episodes this week. Monday’s episode is confirmed to air. Thursday and Friday depend on how the Padres-Cubs Wild Card Series plays out.

If one team sweeps the first two games, GH returns Thursday. If the series is tied after Wednesday, a third game delays GH‘s return until Friday. This means viewers get either two episodes (Monday and Friday) or three episodes (Monday, Thursday, and Friday).

Schedule disruptions aren’t new for soap fans. Sports coverage has a long history of preempting daytime dramas. While frustrating for dedicated viewers, these interruptions are temporary, and Port Charles drama will resume by week’s end.
