Anna held a gun on Britt and Jason Morgan on that mountaintop while a hallucination of Peter August whispered in her ear. She fired. Tracy backpedals into support and insists that if Brook Lynn believes the marriage can be saved, she is on board. Do not buy a word of it. Tracy is quietly building a sole custody case, and if I know these writers, the day Chase learns that is the day this marriage stops being salvageable.

The cruelty of the timing is the entire point. Brook Lynn is still carrying the Route 91 crash, Chase is still raw over what she kept from him, and now Tracy has handed him a reason to hire a lawyer first and ask questions later. Anna is not the only one in Port Charles about to learn that the people protecting you are the ones positioned to do the most damage.
