DREW CAIN PROMISED AVA JEROME ONE TARGET AND MARTIN GREY JUST ASKED FOR A NAME

TL;DR: Drew Cain recruited Ava Jerome on August 27 by promising her that Sonny goes down once Jack Brennan is handled. Friday’s preview has Martin Grey refusing to fetch anything until Drew says who it is for.

Drew Handed Ava Jerome a Name She Could Not Refuse

General Hospital spoilers for Drew Cain looked simple on Thursday. They do not look simple now. In the August 27 episode, Drew found Ava Jerome at the Metro Court gardens right after an ugly exchange with Sonny Corinthos, and he pitched her a job. Keep Jack Brennan occupied, he said, long enough for Drew to search the WSB station chief’s hotel room. Then came the sweetener: once Brennan is handled, Sonny is next.

Ava had every reason to say yes. Sonny had just finished treating her like furniture, and here was a man offering her a front row seat to his ruin. She raised the obvious problem, that lying to a federal agent has a way of circling back, and then she agreed anyway. It took about ninety seconds.

Read what Drew actually said, though. He never told Ava he was going after Sonny first. He said he had a personal situation with Brennan to settle before the two of them could move on Sonny at all. That is a sequence, not a promise. The order is the entire story, and almost nobody covering this week is treating it that way.

Drew has been running on grievance since the day he got his body back, and the rest of Port Charles has its own wreckage to sort through. His list of enemies is long. Sonny is on it. Sonny is nowhere near the top of it, and Ava had no reason to check.

The Question Martin Grey Asks Changes What Friday Is About

Friday’s episode, scheduled for August 28, hands the next move to Martin Grey. The network’s own preview clip shows Drew asking his attorney to acquire something for him, and Martin does not simply agree. He wants to know why Drew wants it and who Drew plans to use it on. That is a lawyer asking a client to name a victim. You do not write that line for a man whose target the audience already knows.

Martin has been the steadiest presence in Drew Cain’s corner all summer. He drove him to the neurologist. He enforced the restraining order that kept Alexis Davis away from Scout. Our rolling General Hospital spoilers roundup has followed every move since the lake, and this is the first time Drew’s own lawyer has planted a foot and asked for a name.

Who Is Drew Cain Really Targeting on General Hospital?

Brennan, on the evidence that actually exists. Drew Cain told Ava the Brennan problem comes first, and everything in the preview points at the break-in he is already staging. What is getting flattened everywhere else is the grievance math. Willow Cain shot him in the back and now holds the congressional seat she was appointed in February to serve out his term. Nina Reeves rolled his wheelchair into the Quartermaine lake on July 24.

Gio Palmieri is the only reason he came out of that water. Set those two beside Sonny, a bidding rival with a bad attitude, and the ranking is not close. Sonny was never Drew’s most urgent enemy. Sonny was Ava’s. That is precisely why the name worked.

What Drew Cain Does Next Tells You Who He Was Lying To

Here is the prediction. If Martin hands the item over and Drew’s first move lands on Brennan’s hotel room door, this is a man keeping his word in the order he gave it. If Drew gets what he asked for and turns it on somebody who was never mentioned in that garden, then Ava has been used, and she will find out the ugly way.

My gut says Brennan is the door and Willow is the room behind it. Drew cannot lay a finger on her while the WSB station chief sits on the campaign money that can bury him. Clear Brennan and the real target finally becomes reachable. Ava signed up for a war against Sonny and may have volunteered for something else entirely.

Sonny Was the Price of Admission, Not the Plan

Drew picked the one name in Port Charles that would make Ava move without a single follow-up question. That is not partnership. That is casting. He needed a distraction who would sell it hard to a man trained to spot a lie, and he found one still carrying a fresh insult.

If Martin’s question is a seed rather than a throwaway, the payoff is Ava learning she was aimed like a weapon. We will be watching what leaves that hotel room and whose name is attached to it. Come argue the target with us on our Facebook page.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Did Drew Cain lie to Ava Jerome about going after Sonny?

Nothing that has aired proves a lie. What Drew said on August 27 was that his problem with Jack Brennan comes before any move on Sonny. That is a sequence. Whether Sonny was bait or a genuine second step is still open, and Friday’s scene with Martin Grey is what makes it a live question.

What is Martin Grey getting for Drew on General Hospital?

The item has not been named on screen. The preview shows Drew asking his attorney to acquire something and Martin pushing back with two questions: why Drew wants it, and who he plans to use it on. Circulating spoiler chatter points at something built to defeat a security system, which would fit the hotel room search.

Why does Drew Cain want inside Jack Brennan’s hotel room?

Brennan is holding material that can bury Drew, including the campaign finance problem tied to his run for Congress. Valentin Cassadine handed Brennan that ammunition in late July. Drew cannot move against anyone else while the WSB station chief can end him with a phone call.
