STONE COLD IS COMING HOME — JASON MORGAN’S EXPLOSIVE RETURN DATE LOCKED IN

TL;DR: General Hospital spoilers confirm Steve Burton is officially returning to GH, with Stone Cold’s filming start locked for June 2026. Jason’s Jakarta nightmare has an end date — and Port Charles will never see what hits it.

Steve Burton Drops the Bombshell GH Fans Have Been Waiting For

The wait is officially over. Jason Morgan is coming home, and Steve Burton himself is the one who finally gave fans a date to circle on the calendar. On the latest installment of That’s Awesome, the podcast Burton co-hosts with fellow General Hospital star Bradford Anderson, the actor confirmed what every Stone Cold loyalist has been begging to hear since February — he’s returning to the ABC soap, and he’s “starting in June.”

Burton noted on the podcast that the question he gets asked more than any other these days is when he’s coming back to General Hospital. Anderson confirmed it, and Burton put the rumor to bed once and for all. Filming kicks off in June, which means — given General Hospital‘s standard four-to-six-week tape-to-air gap — Port Charles can expect Jason to plant his boots back on home soil somewhere between mid-July and early August 2026. If I know these writers, that timing isn’t an accident. Sweeps season has a brand-new headliner.

Jason’s Jakarta Nightmare Is Bigger Than Anyone Realizes

Last fans saw of Jason on March 25, he was being loaded into a WSB transport van as son Danny sobbed and Dante Falconeri held the boy back. Station Chief Jack Brennan told Alexis Davis her grandson would never see his father again. Brennan later confirmed to Carly Spencer on April 9 that Jason is being held at a WSB black site in Jakarta, Indonesia — a facility the agent compared to Steinmauer.

The official charge against Jason is the attempted murder of WSB Director Ross Cullum at Pier 55 on March 23. The trouble? Jason didn’t pull that trigger. Rocco Falconeri did — and Stone Cold confessed to the crime to protect Sonny’s grandson from facing the consequences. That paternal instinct is exactly the kind of move only Jason would make. And it’s exactly the kind of move that’s about to come back and detonate the entire WSB conspiracy.

The Truth About Rocco Is About to Blow Everything Wide Open

Here’s where things get interesting. Cullum survived the shooting — Lucas Jones operated and saved his life — and the WSB Director is now awake at GH and explicitly told Britt Westbourne on April 16 that he knows Jason wasn’t the real shooter. On April 21, Rocco confessed everything to Britt in the GH chapel. That makes four people in Port Charles who know the truth — Rocco, Britt, Lulu Spencer, and Cassius — and one of them is going to break.

Reading between the lines, the writers are stacking dominoes. Jason Morgan’s return in July or August lines up perfectly with the natural ignition point of this storyline. Could this mean Rocco’s confession goes public the same week Stone Cold walks off that WSB transport? My gut tells me yes. Don’t be surprised if the truth detonates exactly when Jason needs it most — turning his Jakarta cell into a one-way ticket back to Port Charles. This has all the makings of a return for the ages.

Sidwell and Cullum Are Already Cracking — Jason’s Return Will Finish Them

The villains aren’t standing on solid ground. Jenz Sidwell and Cullum’s partnership is already fracturing — Cullum killed Sidwell’s son Marco Rios at the same Pier 55 confrontation, and that wound isn’t healing. Add Britt’s mounting desperation, Rocco’s guilt eating him alive, and a paralyzed congressman secretly fighting back from his locked-in prison, and Port Charles is sitting on a powder keg with Jason Morgan’s name carved into the fuse.

Something tells me Jason Morgan is the match. When Burton’s hiatus ends and Stone Cold finally walks back into Sonny Corinthos‘s orbit, Sidwell’s empire crumbles. The henchman everyone underestimates is about to remind Port Charles exactly why he’s the most dangerous man on the canvas. Burton’s return isn’t just a comeback — it’s a reckoning. Mark my words.

    Great Stuff Ahead.

    P.S.
Marco Rios wasn’t present at the Pier 55 confrontation.
He was attacked (and later died) at the Miller-Davis Law offices.
