Det. Fitzpatrick walked into Wyndemere to question Pascal about Marco’s murder. Sidwell hovered. Tracy, Brook Lynn, and Lucy were still in the room from the Deception confrontation. Pascal stood there spitting that Joe should be questioning Lucas instead.

Down in the basement, Josslyn was on the clock. She rigged her overhead light to cause a power surge. The castle went dark. The generator took a minute to kick in. Sixty seconds was all she needed.

The electronic lock on her cell disabled with the rest of the power grid. She pried the door open and started up the stairs. Upstairs, Pascal bolted. Out the front door. Past Joe. Into the dark. Then Sonny strolled up to the dead car and offered Pascal his assistance. That is not assistance. That is a Corinthos pickup. Pascal escaped Sidwell only to walk straight into the one man on the canvas who has been hunting Sidwell for months.

The chain reaction goes Josslyn’s surge to Pascal’s escape to Sonny’s sabotage to Pascal’s capture. Three storylines collapsed into one outcome in the same minute, and the engine was a teenage hostage with a light fixture.

Sidwell Was at the Front Door With a Gun

The cliffhanger is what makes this IMMORTAL. Josslyn made her way to the main floor. She opened the front door. Sidwell was on the other side. With a GUN.

Now for the speculation. Pascal in Sonny’s car is the soft target everyone has been waiting for. Sonny will drive him somewhere quiet. He will apply pressure. Pascal will crack. Whether Pascal names Cullum as Marco’s killer, names Sidwell as the Dalton murderer, or names the Wyndemere basement as Josslyn’s holding cell, the butler will hand Sonny the keys to the entire operation.

The Lucas plan worked. The PCPD plan worked. The Tracy and Brook Lynn plan worked. Josslyn’s plan worked too well. The only person who does not know how much trouble he is in is Sidwell, and that is because he is currently holding a gun on the one girl whose mother runs Port Charles.

When Sonny finishes with Pascal and learns Josslyn is at Wyndemere, every Corinthos soldier will descend on Spoon Island. The cavalry is coming, and Sidwell does not know he opened the wrong door at the wrong time.

Josslyn Engineered Her Own Cliffhanger

Josslyn did not stay in that basement waiting to be rescued. She manufactured her own escape. She set off a power surge that took down the security grid. She broke out of a locked cell. She climbed the stairs of the most dangerous mob house in Port Charles. She got to the front door with no help and no weapon.

She failed only because Sidwell happened to be standing on the other side at the wrong second. That is not a failed escape. That is a near miss that will define the rest of this storyline. The basement girl is no longer a hostage. She is the engine of the storyline that ends Sidwell on General Hospital.
