Josslyn Jacks caught something Port Charles missed. She watched “Nathan” leave Ross Cullum‘s hospital room. Then she sat down across from Lulu Spencer and ran one of the cleanest soft interviews this show has seen in months, pulling Lulu through the gym, Cesar Faison, Britt Westbourne, and how close the West siblings actually are.

Lulu walked out thinking it was cousin small talk. Joss walked out with a case file.

The WSB trains for this. Joss trained for this. By the time she said out loud how amazing it was that “Nathan” had slipped back into his life so easily after seven years, the word “amazing” had a different meaning entirely.

The Next Clue Is Already Lining Up

Joss is working a WSB investigation inside her own family. Nobody around her knows she is doing it. She is going to pull Nathan’s pre-disappearance medical records and find a discrepancy she cannot explain. The gunshot wound Faison gave Nathan was catastrophic. The recovery should have left marks this man does not have.

From there, she will move to Nathan’s service history. He had partners at the PCPD. She will start making quiet calls. She will ask old colleagues what they remember, ask about mannerisms, phrases, the way he handled a specific case. Somewhere in that paper trail, Joss is going to find the name of whoever is running this operation.

That is the clue that gets her killed.

The Operation Behind “Nathan” Is Bigger Than a Cover Story

Here is what Joss does not know yet. The man wearing Nathan’s face is not a lone grifter. He is an asset. Somebody placed him in Port Charles with access to PCPD resources and Cullum’s hospital room. Somebody is protecting the operation and is not going to let a young WSB agent take it apart with a handful of well-placed questions.

If “Nathan” is a Cullum asset, Cullum kills her quietly and makes it look like an accident on the docks. If “Nathan” is a Jenz Sidwell asset, Sidwell kills her faster and less carefully. If “Nathan” is answering to someone higher in the WSB than the Jacks family has ever talked about, her own agency is part of the problem and her chain of command cannot save her.

The window is closing. Every workout at the gym, every conversation at Bobbie’s, every glance exchanged at Dante Falconeri‘s office is another chance for “Nathan” to notice her pattern of questions and report upward. Joss does not have unlimited time. She has weeks, maybe days, and she does not know it.

The Hit Is Not Going to Look Like a Hit

When a soap takes out a young WSB agent who was getting too close to the wrong truth, it does not do it cleanly. An explosion at an abandoned warehouse. A car that loses its brakes on a coastal road. A fall from a pier. The setup looks random, the execution is surgical, and the funeral breaks Carly Corinthos in a way she does not come back from.

The worst part is Joss is going to know, right before it happens, that she was this close. She is going to have the name in her hand. She is going to know who “Nathan” is and who placed him here, and then the hit is going to land and the name is going to die with her unless she passes it to someone first.

Which is the question fans should be asking right now. Who does Joss tell when she has the full picture? Dante is inside the target zone. Carly will get killed in the crossfire trying to protect her daughter. Sonny Corinthos will bring mob resources that may not beat what “Nathan” is answering to. The person Joss needs to tell is somebody outside the Port Charles web entirely, and she is going to have to figure out who in the WSB itself she can trust before she tells anyone anything.

Josslyn Jacks Is Running Out of Time Before She Knows It

Joss thinks she is at the start of an investigation. Joss is actually at the start of a countdown. Every question gets her closer to the truth and closer to the bullet. She has the skills to find what she is looking for. She does not yet have the paranoia to realize what finding it is going to cost her.

Fans who love Josslyn Jacks should be prepared for the possibility that this is the storyline that takes her off the canvas for good. A Jacks woman chasing a WSB cover-up into the heart of the Cullum-Sidwell operation is a death in the making. The writers know it. The “Nathan” handlers know it.

The only person who does not know it yet is Joss.
