KATE MANSI EXITS GENERAL HOSPITAL AND DAYS FANS ARE BUZZING

TL;DR: Kate Mansi has exited General Hospital as Kristina Corinthos-Davis after declining to renew her contract. The actress, who previously won a Daytime Emmy for her work as Abigail Deveraux DiMera on Days of Our Lives, has already finished taping in Hollywood. Salem fans are already manifesting a comeback.

Kate Mansi Says Goodbye to Port Charles

Kate Mansi has officially exited General Hospital. According to an exclusive report from Soap Opera Network, the actress chose not to renew her contract with the ABC daytime drama, and she has already finished taping at the Prospect Studios-based set in Hollywood. The news landed on the third anniversary of her on-screen debut as Kristina Corinthos-Davis, which makes the timing even more poetic.

At press time, a final air date for Mansi has not been announced, and the show has not confirmed whether the role of Kristina will be recast or temporarily shelved. Either way, Port Charles is officially losing a Corinthos, and the ripple effects on the wider Corinthos family canvas are going to be felt fast.

Kate Mansi Inherited a Beloved Role and Made It Her Own

When Kate Mansi joined the soap exactly three years ago, she stepped into a role that already had decades of layered Corinthos family history attached to it. Kristina is the daughter of Sonny Corinthos and Alexis Davis, and before Mansi took over, the character had been played by Lexi Ainsworth, who left the show in the weeks before Mansi’s debut. Ainsworth herself won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress for her work as Kristina in 2017, the same year Mansi took home her own Emmy for Days of Our Lives. Two Emmy-winning Kristinas in one calendar year is the kind of bragging right most soap roles never get.

The role also had a recast in the middle of all of this. Lindsey Morgan played Kristina starting in 2012, when the character was sent off to Yale University, until Ainsworth’s eventual return in 2015. Overall, Ainsworth played the role from 2009 to 2011 and again from 2015 to 2023, when Mansi inherited the canvas.

The Abigail DiMera Rumor Mill Is Already Spinning

Of course, Days of Our Lives fans only need to read the words Kate Mansi and free agent in the same sentence to start manifesting. Mansi is best known to Salem watchers for her Emmy-winning portrayal of Abigail Deveraux DiMera, the role she played on the Peacock soap before joining Port Charles. Her Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress remains one of the most celebrated wins of her daytime career, and the door to Salem has always felt cracked open.

There is no confirmed comeback as of press time. But the fan chatter is loud, the timing is suspicious, and the Choi family chaos plus the Jack and Jennifer reunion energy on the current Salem canvas is exactly the kind of storyline soup a returning DiMera daughter could walk right into. We are not saying anything official, but we are also not closing the rumor mill.

What Kate Mansi Is Doing Now

Mansi has also been busy outside of daytime. Earlier this month, the actress celebrated the theatrical premiere of her new film Casa Grande, a continuation of the 2023 limited series of the same name. The film, which hit theaters on May 1, also stars Lou Diamond Phillips, Christina Moore, Madison Lawlor, and Lauren Swickard, who is the real-life wife of Mansi’s now former General Hospital co-star Josh Swickard, who plays Chase. The film also brought Mansi to the Napa Valley Stream Fest earlier this month, where she posted on Instagram about the experience and gave fans a glimpse of her latest professional chapter.

What This Means for Port Charles

With Mansi off the canvas, Port Charles is suddenly missing a significant Corinthos family piece. Whether the role gets recast, shelved, or quietly written into a long stay-off-camera storyline, Kristina’s exit reshapes the family dynamics around Sonny and Alexis in real time. The role has a recast history, so a third face on the canvas is not without precedent. Fans will be watching closely for any news on what comes next.

Catch Kate Mansi’s remaining episodes on General Hospital in the coming weeks.
