Matt Clark is the name nobody in Genoa City wanted to hear again.

Thursday, Matt resurfaces, and the man who chased Sharon and Noah through the Vegas desert with a card to the GCAC in his hand is finally close enough to do the damage he has been planning for months. Matt Clark has been hunting Adam Newman through state lines and back alleys, and Thursday he is finally in town and ready to settle scores.

The damage Matt Clark can do has been the storm cloud sitting over Genoa City for weeks now, and Thursday is the day the storm hits. Adam has been telling everyone Matt is coming, and nobody has wanted to fully believe it. Thursday, the disbelievers find out exactly how wrong they were. Matt has been planning, plotting, and biding his time, and the version of him walking into Genoa City Thursday is colder, more focused, and more dangerous than the one we last saw.

Sharon barely got out of Vegas alive. Adam has been sleeping with one eye open. The Young and the Restless has been building Matt Clark into a real and present threat, and Thursday he stops being a threat in theory and becomes one in fact. Matt Clark is here, and somebody is going to pay.

Phyllis Summers has known Nick Newman longer than almost anyone, and Thursday she is troubled by what she is seeing.

Nick has been spiraling, and Phyllis has been watching from the sidelines, biting her tongue, hoping the man she once loved would find his way back. Thursday, the way Nick is behaving rattles her enough that she cannot stay quiet anymore. Phyllis Summers does not get rattled easily, and the fact that Nick’s behavior is what does it tells you exactly how far gone he is.

The question is whether Phyllis says something, and to whom. Phyllis with concerns about Nick is dangerous in a way that has nothing to do with her usual schemes, because Phyllis caring about somebody has historically led to her doing the most.

Cane Ashby Makes Lily Winters A Promise

Cane Ashby is sitting in custody after the most dramatic arrest Genoa City has seen in years.

Thursday, from wherever Christine has him stashed, Cane is going to make Lily Winters a promise. Whatever he vows to her, he is going to have to deliver on it from a place he never thought he would be making promises from. Lily watched the man she loves get cuffed in front of her, and Thursday Cane is going to remind her that handcuffs do not change who he is or what he wants for the two of them.

This is the scene that has every Cane and Lily fan EMOTIONAL. Cane Ashby promising Lily Winters anything is the kind of moment soap fans live for, and Thursday’s version is going to land DIFFERENT given the circumstances.
