GH BOMBSHELL: NINA SECRETLY HIRES SONNY’S ENEMY RIC LANSING TO DEFEND WILLOW’S CUSTODY CASE

TL;DR: Nina Reeves anonymously hires manipulative attorney Ric Lansing to represent daughter Willow in her custody battle, keeping it secret to avoid more tension after their relationship imploded over Nina’s hidden affair with Drew.

OH. MY. GOD. Just when you thought Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) couldn’t dig herself any deeper into a hole with her daughter, she goes and does THIS! The woman who destroyed her relationship with Willow Tait by keeping her affair with Drew Cain a secret has now… wait for it… hired notorious schemer Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) to secretly represent Willow in her custody battle! And Willow has NO CLUE her new high-powered attorney is being bankrolled by mommy dearest!

Is Ric Lansing Really Back in Port Charles?

Yes, Ric Lansing has returned to Port Charles and Nina Reeves has secretly hired him as Willow’s anonymous attorney for her custody case.

And ARE YOU KIDDING ME WITH THIS CASTING?! Ric freaking Lansing! For those who need a refresher, this is Sonny Corinthos’s vengeful half-brother who once kidnapped a pregnant Carly and locked her in a panic room! The same guy who married Nina before just for money! The same manipulator who blackmailed his own sister Alexis Davis! THIS is who Nina thinks will help fix things with Willow?

Why Is Nina Keeping This Secret From Willow?

Nina is hiding that she hired Ric because Willow continues to reject her after discovering Nina kept her affair with Drew secret, and Nina fears revealing this help would create even more tension.

Look, I get it — Nina is desperate. She’s watching Drew’s influence over Willow and it’s killing her. But hiring Ric Lansing anonymously? After everything that happened with keeping the Drew affair secret? Has this woman learned NOTHING?! The irony here is OFF THE CHARTS! She’s literally repeating the exact same mistake — keeping secrets “for Willow’s own good” — that destroyed their relationship in the first place!

Will Ric Figure Out Who His Anonymous Client Is?

Given Ric’s history as a calculating manipulator who previously married Nina for financial gain, he will almost certainly discover Nina is his anonymous client.

Come on, we ALL know Ric is too smart not to figure this out! The man is a master schemer who’s been playing these games for DECADES. Once he realizes Nina is the one signing his checks? Oh boy. Will he blackmail her? Use this information against Sonny? Turn this custody case into his own personal revenge plot? With Ric Lansing, literally ANYTHING is possible!

What’s Next for Nina and Willow?

Could this mean the final, irreparable break between mother and daughter? Don’t be surprised if Willow’s reaction to discovering this secret makes their wedding confrontation look like a tea party! Given Nina’s history of self-sabotage, this has all the makings of the relationship-ending betrayal that pushes Willow away forever. If I know these writers, we’re headed for an explosive confrontation that will have Nina losing not just Willow, but potentially facing Ric’s manipulation and Sonny’s wrath when the mob boss discovers his enemy is back in town!

Reading between the lines, Drew’s control over Willow might finally break when this all comes to light. Something tells me Ric vs Drew could be the battle we didn’t know we needed! My gut tells me this custody case is about to become ground zero for multiple Port Charles feuds colliding!

Quick Answers for GH Fans

Q: Has Ric Lansing worked with Nina before? A: Oh yes — he actually married her once for money and manipulation, making this “partnership” even MORE insane!

Q: Why doesn’t Nina just help Willow openly? A: Because Willow is still furious about Nina hiding her affair with Drew, so Nina thinks anonymous help is her only option (spoiler alert: it’s NOT).

Q: Could this reignite the Sonny-Ric feud? A: Are you kidding? Ric being back in Port Charles and involved with Nina and Willow? This has Corinthos family war written ALL over it!
