SONNY CORINTHOS PULLED HIS GUN ON RIC LANSING AND PORT CHARLES JUST CHANGED FOREVER

TL;DR: Sonny Corinthos walked into Ava Jerome’s gallery on General Hospital Friday night with his gun drawn and his own brother on the wrong end of it. Ric Lansing burned through the chance Sonny gave him on Thursday, and Sonny said this is the last time. Port Charles has watched these two stare down a gun before. This time the brother arc is over.

The Benefit of the Doubt Ric Lansing Could Not Hold On To

Sonny Corinthos sat across from Alexis Davis at Miller and Davis on Thursday and admitted he had caught his brother in a lie. He was scared Ric Lansing was getting ready to stab him in the back again. Alexis pushed back. She thought Ric had been working hard to repair the relationship, and both of them agreed Ric seemed genuine. So Sonny Corinthos decided to give his brother the benefit of the doubt. The brothers were closer than they had ever been.

But he made one thing clear before he walked out. If Ric crossed him again, the line was the line. There would be no coming back from it.

By Friday night, Sonny was standing inside Ava Jerome‘s gallery with a gun in his hand and his own brother on the other end of it. The benefit of the doubt did not even survive twenty four hours.

Every Lansing brother arc has imploded the same way for years. Ric cannot stop himself. He gets within reach of forgiveness and reaches for the next angle instead. This time, the angle had Ava Jerome attached to it, which is the kind of accelerant that turns a slow burn into a house fire.

Ethan Lovett Did the Quiet Work That Lit the Fuse

Ethan Lovett walked into Sonny’s office on Friday with the kind of report that ends marriages, partnerships, and possibly a brother. He had been tailing Ric all day. Ric had met up with Ava again. They were at her gallery right then.

Sonny did the math in real time. If Ric was working with Ava, and Ava was working with Sidwell, his brother was not slipping. His brother was coming for him. Sonny needed to confront Ric that night and find out exactly how deep the betrayal ran before anyone else got hurt.

Ric, meanwhile, was at the gallery sweating through his shirt and clutching a briefcase like a baby. Ava reassured him her contact would arrive. She always came through.

The Briefcase, the Envelope, and the Mystery Man

Ric and Ava argued about the past while they waited. A previous blackmail scheme that fell apart. Old wounds. Ric reminded Ava she had still walked away from the last disaster with a divorce settlement, and tonight she was getting another hefty injection of cash on top of it. Ava was unbothered. She had gotten a text. He was here.

The mystery buyer arrived. The transaction happened. The audience never got to see his face. Ric handed Ava an envelope of money.

That is when Sonny Corinthos and Ethan Lovett walked through the door.

The Last Time Sonny Will Say It

Ric froze. He turned and saw his brother standing there with Ethan two steps behind him, and the only word out of his mouth was a question. What was Sonny doing here?

Sonny did not answer with words. He pulled his gun. He pointed it at the brother he had been defending less than a day before. And he said exactly what he told Alexis he would say. Ric had told him he could trust him. Ric had betrayed him again. This was the last time.

Sonny Corinthos at this stage of his life does not pull his gun lightly. He has buried more people than most men have ever met. His code is simple. You do not betray family. You do not lie to family. And if you do, you accept what happens next.

Ric Lansing knew the rules. He took the deal anyway. He cut Ava in. He chose the envelope over the only person on earth who actually loves him as a brother.

Will the Trigger Pull

The cliffhanger is the question. Will Sonny end his brother in the middle of an art gallery while Ethan watches? Or will Ric talk his way out the way he has talked his way out of everything for the last twenty plus years?

Port Charles has been here before. The Lansing brothers have stared each other down at gunpoint in cemeteries, basements, and at least one mausoleum. Ric is alive at the end of every one of those scenes because Sonny always blinks. He always finds the reason to lower the weapon. Their mother. Their history. The piece of him that still wants the brother he never got to have.

This time is different. Ric did it with Ava Jerome of all people, and there is no version of this story where Sonny lets Ava walk out of that gallery thinking she got away with it either.

Whatever happens when General Hospital picks back up, the brothers do not come back from this. The trust is gone. The doubt is gone. The brother arc is gone.

The only question is whether Ric Lansing comes back from it at all.

Will Sonny Corinthos actually pull the trigger or will Ric Lansing live to betray his brother one more time? Drop your prediction below and let’s see who Port Charles is rooting for!
