Tracy Quartermaine does not take orders in her own house, and Monet Mitchell handed her a whole list of them. The Miller & Davis attorney marched into the mansion with an ultimatum: either Chase moves back in with his daughter, or she files for a legal separation and a custody agreement on his behalf. Tracy argued, sparred over which parent the baby is better off with, and then did the thing she hates most. She folded.

Folding isn’t surrender, though, not for this woman. The minute Chase arrived, she laid down her ground rules, waited for him to disappear into his guest room, and told Michael Corinthos exactly what she’s after. Nudge Chase into an affair with Willow Tait, and Brook Lynn Quartermaine walks away with full custody. Michael’s response? “How can I help?”

A Houseguest Is Much Easier To Watch

The Quartermaine matriarch has been building this case for weeks. She asked Alexis Davis to make sure Brook Lynn lands primary custody if the marriage falls apart, learned the lawyers would need proof of infidelity, and put Yuri on Chase-and-Willow watch. Now she can fire the spy. Her target sleeps down the hall, and she gets to clock every late dinner, every text that makes him smile, and every time Willow’s name comes up over coffee.

Willow’s Imagination Is Doing Tracy’s Job For Her

Here’s the part nobody at the mansion planned for: Willow is already halfway there on her own. She’s the one who told Chase that moving back in was the best thing he could do for his daughter, and minutes after he left, she was in the steam room having a very un-congresswoman-like fantasy about her ex. The advice sounded selfless. The daydream says otherwise.

These two have history. Their romance ended years ago when Chase stepped aside so she could build a family with Michael, and she’s never really stopped wondering about the one who got away. Drew Cain caught her holding Chase’s hand at the gym and ran straight to Michael with it. That’s the kind of slow-burn temptation Port Charles was built on.

Chase Is The Last Line Of Defense

The detective isn’t making it easy for anyone. He told his lawyer dating is the furthest thing from his mind, and he told Willow he still loves his wife. Brook Lynn is fighting to put her family back together with honesty and love, which makes her grandmother’s plan even more delicious. But Ned Quartermaine already asked him the question he couldn’t answer: is he angry because Brook Lynn framed someone, or because that someone was Willow? A man who has to think about that answer is exactly the kind of man Tracy Quartermaine knows how to work with.
