CONGRESSWOMAN WILLOW TAIT. PORT CHARLES DOESN’T KNOW WHAT’S COMING.

TL;DR: Willow Tait shot her husband, got acquitted, stole his house key, accepted a lowball custody deal, and is now being asked to take Drew Cain’s congressional seat on General Hospital — and we are rooting for every single second of it.

She Already Has the Skill Set

Let us review Willow Tait’s recent résumé. She shot a sitting congressman and left him for dead. She married him in the hospital while he couldn’t speak. She got herself acquitted while the entire Quartermaine family, the PCPD, and half of Port Charles watched. She sat across from her ex-husband at a custody negotiation, accepted terms that looked like a loss, and used the meeting to steal Drew’s house key right off Michael’s keychain while Alexis was mid-sentence. And then she went home and told Drew — a man who cannot move, cannot speak, and can only blink — that she was the one who put him there.

This woman is not a reformed kindergarten teacher anymore. She is something else entirely. And General Hospital just put her in Congress. We say yes. Immediately. Without hesitation.

Think Willow taking Drew’s seat is the most unhinged thing to happen in Port Charles this year? How do you think she’ll use the power to her advantage? Who will she set out to destroy first? Send your hot takes to [email protected] — we might feature you!

The Proposition Nobody Could Refuse

It was Jenz Sidwell who showed up at Willow’s door with the offer — except it was never really an offer. When she tried to decline, he made it very clear that refusal was not an option. She has one constituent and it is him. Sidwell also dropped something devastating in that conversation: he has known all along that Willow shot Drew, and he has been the one supplying the drugs that have kept Drew frozen in that bed. He did not expose her. He used her. And now he owns her.

But here is what Sidwell may be underestimating: Willow does not serve anyone. She proved that when she put a bullet in Drew after he handed her everything she wanted. She put on her power suit, walked into that press conference, and took the seat. She will smile through every ribbon-cutting and use every ounce of federal power available to her to destroy Michael Corinthos, keep her children, and make Drew’s locked-in existence as controlled and miserable as possible — and you can follow every move she makes right here. Sidwell thinks he is installing a puppet. He is actually installing a predator.

Nina Reeves Is Going to Make This So Much Worse

Nina Reeves showed up at the house and was thrilled to hear Willow was taking the seat. She has no idea Sidwell just backed her daughter into a corner. Nina sees this congressional seat the same way she sees everything involving Willow — as an opportunity to be her secret weapon, just like she was during Drew’s campaign. Nina wants to make the high-level introductions, pull the strings behind the scenes, and finally have her daughter exactly where she has always wanted her: powerful, grateful, and dependent on mom. That is a beautiful disaster waiting to happen and we would not have it any other way.

What About Michael? Glad You Asked.

Michael Corinthos accepted that 60/40 custody split thinking he won. He did not win. A congressional schedule means Michael has to work around Willow. She will be untouchable. She will have federal resources, political immunity, and a mother with connections. Michael is currently under investigation for Drew’s shooting, dating a woman with a complicated past, and just found out his ex-wife is his congresswoman. Drew promised Michael would beg for mercy. Willow is the one collecting on that promise — from a seat in Congress with a security detail and a press office.

Oh, and one more thing. Sidwell made a point of mentioning that Willow’s popularity would only skyrocket if she became a widow. We are going to let that sit right there.

We feel a little bad about this. Collateral damage is part of the deal. We are still here for it. Come find us when the votes are counted.

Do you think Willow uses that congressional seat to go after Michael — and how long before Sidwell realizes he picked the wrong woman to control? Sound off below!
