The Spencer family is getting a whole lot more interesting. The Bold and the Beautiful dropped a major casting bombshell at the end of Friday’s episode when the What’s Next clip revealed Darin Brooks and Denise Richards in scenes from next week’s episodes, officially confirming that both actors are returning to the canvas to reprise their fan favorite roles as Wyatt Spencer and Shauna Fulton.
The former cast members appeared in the preview of next week’s storylines, sending Los Angeles fans into immediate meltdown mode. After months of speculation and Brooks himself teasing a potential return back in February, it is officially happening.

Darin Brooks’s Wyatt Spencer Era Was a Decade in the Making
Darin Brooks first stepped into the role of Wyatt Spencer back in 2013, when the character was introduced as Bill Spencer‘s secret son with Quinn Fuller. The reveal kicked off a decade of layered storytelling for Wyatt, who slotted in as half-brother to Liam Spencer and wove in and out of every major Forrester and Spencer storyline along the way. Brooks earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his work as the unlucky-in-love Wyatt before stepping away from the contract role in 2023.
Brooks was already a recognizable face when he joined Los Angeles. He took home a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor for his work as Max Brady on Days of Our Lives, where he starred from 2005 to 2010. Outside of daytime, he played Alex Moran on the cult comedy Blue Mountain State, and he most recently filmed The Roaring Game alongside Mickey Rourke and Rob Gronkowski. He officially closed out his decade run as Wyatt in January 2024, and at the time he posted on Instagram that it was time to say until we meet again to Wyatt Spencer.
In February, Darin Brooks opened up to TV Insider about the possibility of stepping back into Wyatt’s shoes, telling the outlet, the door is always open on my end. The wait was a lot shorter than anyone expected.
Denise Richards Is Bringing Shauna Fulton Back Into the Mix
Denise Richards is bringing Shauna Fulton right back into the mix alongside him. Richards first joined the cast in 2019 as Shauna, mother to Wyatt’s former love interest Flo Fulton, played by Katrina Bowden. Her arrival in Los Angeles immediately reshaped the canvas. Shauna reconnected with her old friend Quinn Fuller, drifted into a wild Las Vegas chapter that involved an annulled marriage to Ridge Forrester, and built one of the most quietly entertaining friendships on the canvas.
Richards was already a household name when she joined daytime, with credits including Starship Troopers, Wild Things, The World Is Not Enough, and Drop Dead Gorgeous, plus a memorable run on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Her last regular B&B stretch wrapped in 2021, with a brief return in 2022, but Los Angeles never quite filled the Shauna-shaped hole she left.
What This Means for the Canvas
The timing of this dual return is the kind of thing soap dreams are made of. Wyatt Spencer back on the canvas means the Spencer family circle gets bigger overnight, with Bill, Liam, and Will all already on the canvas to welcome him home.
