She has been baking her toe shaped cookies. She has been thanking her for whatever magic she worked on Deacon Sharpe that turned their marriage into the romance of the century. And Taylor has been standing there, absorbing every single word, knowing full well that the “magic” Sheila Carter is thanking her for is the fact that Deacon was thinking about Taylor the entire time he was in bed with his wife.

That is already soap opera gold. But the What’s Next preview suggests it is about to get so much worse.

Sheila shows up at the Cliff House with flowers. She knocks on the door. She calls out. And inside, Taylor and Deacon are in bed together, completely wrapped up in each other, telling each other that nothing is going to keep them apart. They fought this as hard as they could and they lost. And Sheila Carter is standing on the other side of that door with a bouquet and a smile and absolutely no idea that the marriage she thinks Taylor saved is the one Taylor is currently dismantling.

Here is where the speculation gets truly delicious. What if this is not the moment Sheila catches them? What if the show is dangling the near miss in front of us like a lit fuse that does not quite reach the dynamite?

Imagine Sheila popping by Taylor’s office, smirking about how good Ridge must look without a shirt on. Imagine her cracking wise about Taylor finally getting the dressmaker back where he belongs. Imagine her making sly comments about Brooke losing her grip while Taylor sits across from her, frozen, knowing that every single joke Sheila is telling is actually about Sheila’s own husband.

Taylor cannot correct her without exposing the truth. She cannot laugh along without dying inside. And Sheila Carter, the woman who prides herself on being five steps ahead of everyone in every room, is the only person in this entire story who has no idea she is the punchline.

Sheila Carter is not a woman who handles humiliation well. She shot Taylor once before. She has terrorized the Forresters, the Logans, and half of Genoa City. And when she realizes that she spent weeks cracking jokes about her own betrayal, that she was the butt of every single wink and nudge she thought she was sharing with Taylor, that the woman she hugged and baked cookies for and called a friend has been sleeping with her husband this entire time? The fallout will not be a conversation. It will be a five alarm fire with Sheila Carter holding the match and every single person in that building standing in the blast radius.
