CHRISTEL KHALIL IS BACK AND THE REVOLVING DOOR ACROSS ALL FIVE SOAPS IS NOT SLOWING DOWN
TL;DR: Christel Khalil has returned from maternity leave and is back on screen as Lily Winters on The Young and the Restless, Jennifer Holliday guest stars on Beyond the Gates for Easter brunch, Steve Burton has officially exited General Hospital after Jason Morgan was carted off by the WSB, Adrian Anchondo has wrapped his run as Marco Rios, and Monique Mosee debuts as Darlene Hawthorne on Beyond the Gates. The revolving door across all five soaps is spinning fast and this week has arrivals, departures, and one very big voice.
The Young and the Restless: Christel Khalil Is Home
The wait is over. Christel Khalil has returned from maternity leave after giving birth to her third child and is back on screen as Lily Winters. Her first appearance was on March 26, and Genoa City is already feeling her presence. Khalil announced the new addition to her family with a powerhouse post, and fans have been counting down the days until she walked back through that door. Lily Winters is home and Genoa City will never be the same when a Winters woman is operating at full capacity.
Also back this week, Roger Howarth is finally back as the villainous Matt Clark. The character last appeared in January and resurfaces to close in on Nick Newman on Thursday, April 2. Stacy Haiduk continues her short term run as Patty Williams, with her character set to taunt Jack Abbott next week. Melissa Ordway pops in as Abby Newman, sharing scenes with Bryton James‘ Devon on Tuesday when they receive upsetting news about Dominic. Ordway recently spoke out about the soap reigniting Abby’s rivalry with Mariah. And Michael Damian reappears as Danny Romalotti on Wednesday, sharing scenes with Michael Graziadei‘s Daniel and Cait Fairbanks‘ Tessa when Danny presents the duo with an exciting opportunity.

General Hospital: Steve Burton Has Left and Adrian Anchondo Has Wrapped
Steve Burton has officially exited Port Charles after Jason Morgan was carted off to a prison facility by the WSB. The actor is taking a short break from the soap but will return to filming in a few months. Jason’s exit came after he wiped a gun clean to protect Rocco Falconeri, took the fall for shooting Ross Cullum, and sat in silence while the WSB extradited him in shackles. However Burton is spending his time away from the show, Port Charles will feel the void until he is back.
Adrian Anchondo has also wrapped his run as Marco Rios. His character was killed off after being stabbed by double agent Ross Cullum. Anchondo, who debuted on General Hospital in March 2025, reflected on his time on the show in a recent interview, calling the exit powerful and praising his castmates. Nearly 80 episodes in one year. He made every single one of them count.
Beyond the Gates: Jennifer Holliday Is Coming to Fairmont Crest and a Brand New Face Debuts
Broadway legend Jennifer Holliday is set to appear as herself on the Friday, April 3 episode of Beyond the Gates. It is Easter, the whole town is gathered for brunch at the Fairmont Crest Country Club, and Anita Dupree enlisted a friend to sing. Holliday originated the role of Effie White in the Broadway production of Dreamgirls in 1981, won a Tony for it, and is the voice behind the iconic “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.” The Tony and Grammy winner is based in Atlanta, where Beyond the Gates films. Fairmont Crest is about to get very loud in the best possible way.
Also debuting this week is Monique Mosee as Darlene Hawthorne. Fans have been hearing about the police dispatcher for roughly a year. She is Elon’s wife and mother to Jacob, Izaiah, and Luke. During the week of March 23, she met up with Izaiah at Orphey Gene’s. Mosee announced her debut on Instagram. A character fans have been waiting to meet finally has a face.
And Ernestine Johnson appears on Tuesday, March 31, when Ted Richardson blurts out something stunning to Shanice Johnson.
Days of Our Lives: Familiar Faces Return and Owen Kent Makes His Final Stand
After a long absence, Shi Ne Nielson is back as Amy Choi. She interacts with her troubled onscreen daughter, Rachel Boyd‘s Sophia, on Tuesday, March 31. Jonah Robinson pops back in as Mark Greene, having conversations with AnnaLynne McCord‘s Cat and interacting with Dan Feuerriegel‘s EJ on Wednesday, April 1.
Karole Foreman clocks in as Judge Dabney and Tina Huang resurfaces as Melinda Trask on Tuesday as Rachel’s hearing continues. Wally Kurth and Judi Evans are back as Justin Kiriakis and Bonnie Lockhart, with Justin urging Bonnie to see reason on Thursday, April 2.
And Wes Ramsey is back for his final scenes as Owen Kent. The character provokes Jeremy and Alex on Tuesday and is confronted by Stephanie on Friday. Owen’s chapter in Salem is officially closing.
The Bold and the Beautiful: A Quiet Week on the Casting Front
The Bold and the Beautiful has a light week on the comings and goings front. Keith Walker makes an appearance as the Delivery Guy on Wednesday, April 1. Given that Sheila Carter just kicked in a bedroom door and found her husband in Taylor’s bed, whoever is receiving that delivery might want to check it for poison first.

WATCH THIS: So happy to see this face in Genoa City!
@soapoperamag Welcome Back to Genoa City, Patty! So excited to see Patty-Cakes back in her old stomping ground. Who will she mess with first? Diane? Jack? An enemy from the past? Oh, this is going to be delicious! (The only thing that would make this better is if they brought back Paul, too).
