LAURALEE BELL’S WEDDING DRESS REVEALED AHEAD OF CHRISTINE BLAIR AND DANNY ROMALOTTI’S Y&R NUPTIALS
TL;DR:ย The Young and the Restlessย fans have spoken! The strapless bodycon gown with cutout sweetheart neckline won the fan vote for Christine Blair’s wedding dress. Lauralee Bell will wear the winning dress when Cricket marries Danny Romalotti in episodes airing Friday, November 21, and Monday, November 24. The beloved couple is reuniting after more than 30 years, and fans got to participate in choosing Cricket’s bridal look.
The Winning Dress Has Been Revealed
The Young and the Restless has exclusively revealed to People Magazine which wedding dress won the fan vote for Christine “Cricket” Blair’s upcoming wedding to Danny Romalotti. The strapless bodycon gown with a cutout sweetheart neckline came out on top after fans were given the opportunity to vote between three stunning options in September.
Lauralee Bell, who plays Cricket, and Y&R costume designer Mandi Line are both thrilled with the results. Bell notes that the voting process was “totally up to the viewers,” and she was just as excited to learn the winner as the fans were. The 56-year-old actress says people are still sharing their opinions in comments even after the vote concluded.
The idea for the fan voting contest came from Bell’s deep appreciation for the show’s viewers. She recognizes that many fans have been watching for the majority of their lives and wanted them to be more involved in this special moment. Line confirmed that Bell was adamant about keeping the voting process legitimate, and every fan’s voice truly mattered.

Three Very Different Styles Were in the Running
Costume designer Mandi Line originally envisioned creating a custom dress for Cricket that “reflected the past and brought it into the future.” However, once they decided to involve fans in the decision, her vision expanded to include three completely different styles. Line worked with her team to develop three distinct looks: a simple, sexy, bodycon elegant style; a boho chic option; and a Carrie Bradshaw-inspired design.
Line, who describes herself as a huge Sex and the City fan, says Bell was completely on board with the creative direction. Throughout the process of finding and perfecting the three dresses, Bell and Line developed a close working relationship. Line says she literally feels like she’s part of Cricket’s wedding, calling that feeling “such a gift” that she’ll keep with her always.
Bell echoes the sentiment, saying she wouldn’t have wanted to go through the fun and stress of finding three totally different dresses with anyone but Mandi Line. She praises the costume designer’s incredible ability to add or subtract elements and alter dresses so that the wearer feels their absolute best.
The Secret Was Tightly Kept
Bell took the secrecy surrounding the winning dress so seriously that she didn’t even tell her own family which gown won the vote. Her daughter Samantha is still in the dark about the winner, though Bell suspects her savvy daughter may have watched the voting percentages during the contest period. Even family and best friends were kept out of the loop, but Bell says her daughter never pressured her to reveal the results.
Cricket and Danny’s Love Story Comes Full Circle
This will be the second wedding for Cricket and Danny on The Young and the Restless. The couple first married in a destination wedding in Hawaii in a 1990 episode. Their marriage ended four years later when Danny slept with a fan, Michelle Stafford’s character Phyllis Summers, who recently caused drama on Cricket’s bachelorette trip.
Bell and Stafford are very close in real life and love nothing more than when Cricket and Phyllis feud on screen. Bell admits they may laugh after a severe dig during rehearsal, but once they’re heated, they get fully into the conflict.
The response to “Cricket and Danny 2.0” has been more special than Bell and co-star Michael Damian could have imagined. Bell says she understands having your heart ache for a couple and wishing they’ll reunite because she’s a television fan herself. What they didn’t realize was how many viewers have held onto this hope for over 30 years, and they’re loving having fans alongside them on this journey.
The wedding episodes air on CBS on Friday, November 21, and Monday, November 24.
