The Young and the Restless
Daytime Comings and Goings Week of May 4: A Recast, a Returning Vet, a Broadway Headliner, and a Stalker About to Be Unmasked
A recast, a returning vet, a Broadway headliner, a Food Network cameo, and a stalker about to be unmasked. Daytime is loaded the week of May 4.

THE COMINGS AND GOINGS THIS WEEK STRETCH ACROSS ALL FIVE SOAPS AND THE DOOR IS WIDE OPEN
TL;DR: The Comings and Goings the week of May 4 are loaded across all five soaps. Days of Our Lives has a long-awaited recast and a returning vet. Beyond the Gates has a Food Network host finally hitting Fairmont Crescent. General Hospital has Broadway headlining at The Savoy. The Bold and the Beautiful is unmasking Melissa Dylan’s stalker and bringing Christian Weissmann back on contract. The Young and the Restless is saying goodbye to Vivica A. Fox. Big week.
Days of Our Lives
The biggest casting news of the week belongs to Salem. Jacob Martinez has been cast as the new Javi Hernandez, the long-anticipated recast that Days of Our Lives fans have been waiting on since news broke last summer that Al Calderon was leaving the soap. Calderon transitioned to NBC’s primetime hit Brilliant Minds and has been airing on the series since October 2025. Martinez is a daytime newcomer with a theater background, and his Javi debut is set for June 30. Gabi Hernandez and Rafe Hernandez’s cousin is officially getting a fresh face, and Salem is going to feel it the moment he walks through the door.
Wally Kurth is also back as Justin Kiriakis this week, and the timing could not be sweeter. The beloved vet is set to share scenes with his on-screen son, Robert Scott Wilson’s Alex Kiriakis, as the two bond over fatherhood on Thursday, May 7. The Kiriakis men with their hearts on their sleeves is going to be the soft beat DAYS needs in the middle of the chaos.
Shi Ne Nielsen continues to be featured prominently as Sophia’s mother, Amy Choi. Elia Cantu’s Jada Hunter delivers troubling news about Amy’s daughter on Tuesday, May 5. Amy will also share scenes with Carson Boatman’s Johnny DiMera on Thursday, May 7.

Beyond the Gates
Earlier this year, Sunny Anderson gave the entertainment world a heads-up that she had taped a walk-on for Beyond the Gates. The Food Network host and “Drew Crew” member dished about her trip to the Atlanta set on The Drew Barrymore Show back in January, and the cameo is finally airing this Friday, May 8, just in time for Mother’s Day weekend. Sunny will run into Daphnee Duplaix’s Nicole Dupree Richardson and Robert Christopher Riley’s Carlton Fitzgerald for what should be the lightest moment in a heavy week on Fairmont Crescent.
Cecelia Specht is back as Lia Whitmore on Monday, May 4, when Colby Muhammad’s Kat Richardson sits down for a pointed conversation with Garland Memorial’s chief of staff. Specht will return again Thursday in a much darker scene as Lia’s criminal side takes center stage with chilling threats aimed at Jordi Vilasuso’s Grayson Perez.
The Bold and the Beautiful
The harasser hunting Melissa Dylan is finally getting unmasked on The Bold and the Beautiful. The mystery figure stepped out from behind a rack of gowns at Forrester Creations last Friday, came face to face with Sydney Bullock’s Dylan, and left every fan in the audience squinting at the hair on screen for a full weekend. The reveal lands Monday, May 4. Luna. Remy. Someone we have not even started speculating about yet. Anything is on the table.
Speaking of Remy, Daytime Emmy nominee Christian Weissmann is back on the canvas as Remy Pryce and now on contract at B&B. Weissmann resurfaced April 14 after months off the canvas, and his return has fans wondering whether his Forrester Creations history with Electra Forrester is exactly the kind of unfinished business that puts him behind those gowns Friday with his sights set on Dylan. Whether he is the stalker or not, Remy’s rebuild with Harrison Cone’s Deke Sharpe is also on the table this season, and Weissmann has teased an “unexpected connection” still to come on the canvas.
General Hospital
Michael James Scott returns to General Hospital, this time inside the show itself. The Broadway star, who currently leads the Aladdin company as Genie, headlines a performance at Curtis Ashford’s club, The Savoy, on Monday, May 4. Scott previously crossed over with Giovanni Mazza’s Gio Palmieri and Braedyn Bruner’s Emma Drake when the pair traveled to New York to catch his show last month. The Port Charles set list is going to be one for the books.
Marc Forget is also back as the deeply unsettling Pascal. The Wyndemere butler threatens Van Hansis’s Lucas Jones, only to be interrupted by Maura West’s Ava Jerome and Carlo Rota’s Jenz Sidwell on Monday, May 4. The man cannot stop popping up where he is not wanted.
The Young and the Restless
On the goings front, Vivica A. Fox has wrapped her stint as Dr. Stephanie Simmons on The Young and the Restless. Holden Novak’s mother announced last week that she was heading back to New York to be with Shemar Moore’s Malcolm Winters for his pre-surgery treatments. The exit is the kind that leaves the door cracked open, but for now, Stephanie is officially out of Genoa City.
Gavin K. Lee will appear as a Genoa City cop on Wednesday, May 6, in a scene opposite Billy Flynn’s Cane Ashby. Whatever the cop is there for, the timing fits Cane’s arrest beat the rest of the week leans on hard.
