A man who had dedicated his life to medicine and had the skill and the training and the drive to back it up.

Then Devon Winters broke his wrist.

Devon Winters, the man who slept with his blind father’s wife, decided that Lily Winters needed to face the full weight of the justice system for something that happened in a moment of terrible circumstance.

And then Devon crossed his own line and cheated on Amanda Sinclair with the then named Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor. The man who sent his sister to prison for causing an accident that devastated him turned around and made his own devastating choice in his own relationship, and somehow that was different.

Nate Hastings, whose wrist Devon broke, is trying to rebuild something in medicine, and Devon has feelings about it. Mariah Copeland, who Devon knew intimately as an ex-girlfriend and who carried his biological son through a kidnapping and delivered Dominic safely, took a plea deal instead of prison, and Devon cannot make peace with it. Cane Ashby exists in the general vicinity of the Winters family, and Devon has feelings about every single thing Cane does, including showing up to get tested as a bone marrow donor for Malcolm.

Devon Winters sent his sister to prison. Devon Winters slept with his blind father’s wife. Devon Winters cheated on Amanda. Devon Winters broke a man’s wrist and ended his surgical career. Devon Winters went rogue on his own household by making Abby Newman‘s decisions without telling her.

Nate Hastings Deserves Better Than This

Nate Hastings deserves to get back into medicine on The Young and the Restless. He deserves a storyline that acknowledges what was taken from him and gives him a path back to something real. And Devon Winters, who is the reason Nate is sitting at Crimson Lights with flashbacks instead of in an operating room doing what he was trained to do, deserves to sit with that for considerably longer than he has been sitting with it.
