DEVON AND NATE WANT ANSWERS. VICTOR NEWMAN DOES NOT DO ANSWERS.

TL;DR: Devon Winters and Nate Hastings march straight into the Newman ranch and demand Victor Newman tell them where Lily and the kids are on The Young and the Restless, and if you think that conversation goes smoothly, you have clearly never met Victor Newman.

The Suspect List Is Short

Devon Winters comes home to find Abby Newman doing the Society books and senses immediately something is wrong. He is terrified about Lily and the twins being off the radar entirely. When Nate Hastings arrives, he confirms Devon’s worst fear — Cane admitted Lily and the kids are being held by someone. The two men run through the very short list of people in Genoa City powerful enough and shameless enough to pull this off. They arrive at the same name almost instantly. Victor Newman. Devon grabs his coat. Nate follows. God help them both.

Father Knows Best. Just Ask Him.

Before Devon and Nate even arrive, the Newman ranch is already a powder keg. Victoria Newman wants to weaponize Summer against Phyllis. Victor says absolutely not — Phyllis is a narcissist who does not care what anyone thinks, including her own daughter. Victoria pushes back. Victor reminds her he has already taken steps to ensure Cane sorts things out fast. He will not be explaining those steps. He is Victor Newman. Victoria ultimately agrees to focus on Cane while Victor handles Matt Clark. Her father smiles the smile of a man who has heard that before.

Then Devon and Nate walk through the door and demand to know where Lily and the kids are. Victor, on his own turf, does what he always does when someone storms in demanding answers. He is not rattled. Not even slightly. Because the infuriating genius of this man is that he always has a reason, always has a plan, and always believes the ends justify the means. Devon and Nate are about to walk into that wall at full speed. The wall will not move.

Matt Clark Is Back and Nobody Has the Energy

Over at Crimson Lights, Nicholas Newman fills Sharon Newman in on Victoria’s plan to fly to Milan and recruit Summer against Phyllis. Sharon urges caution. Then Noah Newman walks in with Sienna Bacall, who has agreed to move to Genoa City. The happy moment dies fast when Noah shows everyone the threatening texts Matt Clark has been sending him, including one telling him to sleep with one eye open. Detective Burrows breaks the news that the judge dismissed the case because Annie compromised it. Nick is furious. Burrows floats the idea of taking the law into their own hands. Nobody in that room disagrees.

Dom Had a Nightmare

While Genoa City burns around them, little Dominic wakes up from a bad dream. He tells Devon and Abby he was in a cold field, running toward them, but they were made of snow. His parents hold it together, tuck him back in, and then look at each other with the quiet terror of two people who know their child is carrying more than he should. They decide to consult a child psychiatrist. It is the smallest scene in the episode and somehow the one that lands the hardest. The adults are playing power games. The kids are dreaming of cold fields.

Is Victor protecting Lily or using her? And will Nick and the gang go rogue on Matt Clark? Sound off in the comments!
