MARIAH COPELAND REJECTS THE DEAL AND CHOOSES PRISON

Daniel Romalotti tells Tessa Porter to go back to her wife. Billy Abbott and Chelsea Lawson rip each other apart at Society. And Nick Newman pops pills in an elevator when nobody is watching.

Mariah Copeland Would Rather Do Fifteen Years Than Accept Help

Christine Blair has done her job. She has arranged a plea deal that keeps Mariah Copeland out of prison. Probation. Psychiatric care. A second chance that most people facing fifteen years would accept before the sentence finished leaving the lawyer’s mouth. Mariah Copeland hears all of that and says it is too lenient. She does not deserve it. End of story.

Sharon Newman is terrified. Christine is running out of time. The judge is ready tomorrow. And Mariah is sitting at Crimson Lights scrolling her phone and staring into space like a woman who has already decided she is beyond saving and resents anyone who disagrees.

Meanwhile, Daniel Romalotti finds her at the park and does what nobody else has managed to do: he gets her to crack. She admits she still loves Tessa Porter. She admits she misses her family. She sobs in his arms and asks what kind of person does the things she has done. And then she pulls herself together, puts the wall back up, and runs.

What Daniel does next is the kind of thing that makes you want to throw your remote at the screen and also hug it at the same time. He calls Tessa, tells her everything Mariah said, and then tells her to go back to her wife. He admits Tessa changed his life. He admits he wants to be with her. And he steps aside anyway because he knows Mariah Copeland needs her family more than he needs his happiness. That is either the most selfless thing anyone has done in Genoa City this year or the most heartbreaking. Probably both.

Billy Abbott and Chelsea Lawson Go For the Throat

Billy Abbott and Chelsea Lawson run into each other at Society and within minutes they are saying things that cannot be unsaid. He calls her a conniving woman. He tells her she is a Newman through and through. She calls him passive aggressive and tells him to stay out of her life. He accuses her of having a tantrum. She tells him Adam is actually trying to do something good while Billy is moping about his latest failure.

These two used to love each other. Now they cannot share a restaurant without drawing blood. Chelsea tells him if he wants a fight, he has one. Billy should probably take Sally Spectra’s advice and touch some grass before he runs out of people willing to stand in the same room as him.

Riza Thompson Pulls a Gun on Adam Newman

Nick Newman and Adam Newman are still in Vegas trying to track down Riza Thompson to get to Matt Clark. Adam finally gets her on the phone and plays it cool, says he is passing through, wants to talk about old times. She asks if he is alone. She agrees to come to him. Adam tells Nick she definitely knows something is up but she will show. Nick promises not to go looking for Matt alone and leaves.

Then Adam opens the door and Riza greets him with a gun in his face. So that reunion is going well.

Nick Newman Is Hiding Something

Nick gets on the elevator alone and the second nobody is watching, he pops pills. Sharon told us weeks ago she was glad he was off the pain medication. She said she would hate to see him back on it. Nobody knows. And Nick Newman is swallowing whatever is in that bottle like a man who has been hiding this for a lot longer than anyone realizes. Somebody is going to find out. It is not going to be pretty.
