Nick Newman Is Hiding Pills from Sharon on Y&R and We Have Seen This Movie Before

NICK NEWMAN SHOVED SOMETHING INTO HIS POCKET THE SECOND SHARON WALKED IN AND AFTER MARIAH’S SPIRAL THIS CANNOT BE HAPPENING AGAIN ON Y&R
TL;DR: Nick Newman is hiding pills from Sharon on The Young and the Restless and it could be his pain medication or it could be the fentanyl Matt Clark gave him. Either way, Sharon is a therapist who watched Mariah spiral from untreated illness, and this is the last thing she needs.
We Need to Talk About the Pills in Nick Newman’s Pocket
Sharon Newman handed Nick a cup of tea. That is all she did. She walked into the room, said “here’s your tea,” and Nick Newman shoved something into his pocket so fast you would think she caught him with a burner phone. Then she asked the question that every viewer was already screaming. “What was that? What did you just hide from me?”
Good question, Sharon. Fantastic question. Because the answer could be one of two things, and neither of them is good.
It could be the new pain medication his doctor prescribed back in January after the accident. Nick has been dealing with a leg injury for weeks now, moving from crutches to a cane, and Victoria told him point blank on February 9 to be careful with the pain meds. His leg still hurts like hell. He is still recovering. And hiding legitimate medication from the therapist you are living with is already a five alarm fire.
But it could also be the fentanyl.
Remember the fentanyl? Matt Clark gave Nick those pills, and on January 20, Nick was sitting outside Sharon’s house, shivering and wincing, and pulled a bag of fentanyl out of his pocket like it had been there the whole time. The show never gave us a scene where he flushed them. There was no dramatic moment of Nick tossing them in the trash or handing them over to someone. Those pills simply vanished from the storyline, and now Nick Newman is hiding something in his pocket from Sharon on The Young and the Restless.
Tuesday’s spoiler says Nick “makes a bad decision.” Victoria already warned him. Sharon already caught him. And if those pills are the fentanyl, this is not an addiction story. This is a time bomb that Matt Clark planted inside the Newman family before Victor dragged him out of town.

Sharon Already Watched One Person She Loves Destroy Herself in Silence
Here is what makes this unbearable. Sharon Newman is a licensed therapist. She spent weeks watching her daughter Mariah Copeland spiral from untreated mental illness. She watched Mariah hallucinate a dead man, kidnap a child, and destroy every relationship she had because nobody caught the signs early enough. Sharon carried that guilt into every scene. She closed down Crimson Lights so Mariah could confess. She fought to get her daughter help that should have come months earlier.
And now the man she lives with is hiding pills from her.
Nick Newman’s pain is real. Nobody is questioning that. He was in an accident, his leg is wrecked, and the man who terrorized his family for decades handed him fentanyl like it was a parting gift. But hiding medication from a woman who is still raw from watching her own daughter self destruct is not protecting her. It is repeating the exact pattern that almost destroyed Mariah.
The Show Is Walking a Razor’s Edge
The show is walking a razor’s edge here. If The Young and the Restless commits to a real, complicated story about pain management and the way trauma makes people hide from the people who love them, this could be powerful. But if this becomes another Newman family member spiraling while Sharon watches helplessly, the cruelty of it is staggering. This woman has not had a single uninterrupted month of peace in years. She has buried children, survived stalkers, fought her own demons, held her family together through things that would flatten most people, and now she is supposed to watch Nick lie to her face about what is in his pocket.
Nick is not a villain. He is a man in pain who got handed a bag of poison by a man who wanted to destroy him. But the moment he hid those pills from Sharon, he stopped being a victim and started making a choice. And on this show, that choice always has consequences.
Tuesday is going to be a mess. And Sharon is going to be the one cleaning it up. Again.

WATCH THIS: What will happen to Mariah now?
@soapoperamag I can't stop thinking about this… Mariah kidnapped Dominic. Yelled at him. Told him his parents didn't want him. Tried to take him out of the country. She completely lost it. So now I have to ask… should Tessa protect Aria and keep her away from Mariah? Because what if this happens again? #YR ♬ original sound – Soap Opera Magazine
