Nick Newman Cannot Even Lie Convincingly Anymore
Nick Newman pops pills, rolls his eyes, and picks up a call from Sharon Newman and Chelsea Lawson like a man who is barely holding the phone upright. They ask for an update. He mumbles something about being close to finding Matt. They ask if he is okay. He says he is tired. They say he sounds different. He says he is fine. And then Nick Newman falls asleep. On the phone. While two women are actively speaking words at him.
He snaps out of it, claims he is expecting a call from Adam Newman, and hangs up. Then he passes out on the couch like a man who has given up pretending.
When Adam gets back to the room, Nick is groggy, stumbling, and barely coherent. He blames it on the gym. THE GYM. This man has not seen the inside of a gym since he landed in Vegas. He shuffles to the bathroom, takes more drugs, comes back looking miraculously refreshed, and tells Adam he is ready for whatever comes next. Adam stares at him the way you stare at someone who is lying to your face and daring you to say something about it.
Nick Newman is not fine. Nick Newman has not been fine. And the distance between “I overdid it at the gym” and “somebody call an ambulance” is shrinking by the hour.

Matt Clark Wants to Meet Spider and Adam Has No Idea
Riza Thompson catches Adam bluffing and calls him on it. He is pushing too hard to find out who her partner is and she can see right through him. She asks why he really wants to know. He tries to play it off. She reminds him she did not end up in her position because she is vulnerable.
Meanwhile Matt Clark shows up at Riza’s suite, admires the winnings, and tells her to set up a private meeting so they can all put their cards on the table. He wants to meet Spider face to face. Adam Newman is about to sit across from the man who has been terrorizing his entire family and he does not have the slightest clue it is coming. That collision is going to be spectacular and someone is not walking away from it whole.
Phyllis Summers vs Lily Winters vs Victoria Newman at the GCAC
Phyllis Summers spots Lily Winters trying to avoid her and starts bellowing across the club because subtlety has never been in this woman’s vocabulary. She accuses Lily of torturing her family. She toasts to “the queen on broken hearts.” Lily threatens to walk away. Phyllis delivers the most Phyllis line in the history of Phyllis: “I would follow you. No, I wouldn’t. You’re not that important to me.”
Lily fires back that Phyllis slept with half the town and seduced Cane in business and bed. Phyllis says she is in the big chair now and killing it. Then Lily hears the company is called “Summer’s Conglomerate” and laughs in her face.
Victoria Newman joins the party and together she and Lily tell Phyllis her father never loses and she can see her ending up in the corporate graveyard soon. Phyllis declares her plan did not succeed and she has the goods forever. Three women, one bar, zero chill, and every single one of them thinks she is the smartest person in the room. Spoiler: none of them are. Victor is at the ranch and he is not even thinking about them.
Is Nick Newman going to make it out of Vegas in one piece? And which of these three women is going to end up on top when the dust settles? Sound off below!
WATCH NOW: We need more comedy…like this moment with Nikki…
@soapoperamag I giggled during this and had to do a rewatch because it was too funny. It's not often Nikki shows off her comedic side, but when she was pointing her finger and laughing in Cane's face, I gotta say, I nearly spat out my tea! This moment has lived rent-free in my head since it happened, and I couldn't help but talk about it. Were you Team Nikki or Team Cane in that moment? #YR #YoungandtheRestlessYoungandtheRestless ♬ original sound – Soap Opera Magazine
