This is where Laurence shows his teeth. It is pure performance. She has already clocked that Patty and Laurence are playing her, so she decides to play right back, dangling fake gratitude to lower his guard.

Then she lays it on thick, hinting she could be falling for the very person holding her hostage. Laurence hopes she is joking and reminds her he is her healer, but Diane purrs that she is seeing everything more clearly now. He calls it transference and a positive sign, never realizing the captive is the one running the manipulation this time.

To seal the act, Diane Jenkins offers to cook him dinner, and he happily accepts, oblivious. This is not surrender, it is strategy, a desperate woman buying time and trust so she can engineer her own way out. If Laurence underestimates her for one more second, he is the one who gets burned.

Billy is clinging to the hope that her freeze-out was about protecting him, because the only other explanation is that she thinks he simply cannot cut it.

Cane gives Jill a hug and exits, leaving mother and son to circle the oldest wound between them. Billy admits their relationship feels broken beyond repair, and he keeps insisting he does not want to jeopardize her health by dragging everything into the open. Jill, sharp as ever, accuses him of using her health as a convenient shield to avoid the real conversation.

She explains she returned the company to honor Katherine’s wishes and points out she invested in Abbott Communications precisely because she believes in him. Billy counters that Sally Spectra already told him as much, and it changes nothing. His mother insists they will put this conflict behind them if it is the last thing she does, and asks the question that hangs in the air: can they please simply talk?

Kyle and Traci Fear Jack Walked Into a Trap

At Society, Traci Abbott runs into Kyle Abbott, who is sick with worry that his father has walked straight into danger. He lays out the theory that Laurence and Patty are working together, that Jack went to scope out the doctor’s place hunting for Diane, and that Laurence’s sudden refusal to meet reeks of Patty tipping him off. Back at the Abbott estate, Patty Williams pours a drink and wonders whether Jack has slipped away to rescue Diane. She lifts their wedding photo and makes the household a promise dressed as a threat: Diane will never have Jack again. The house is hers, the man is hers, and as far as Patty Williams is concerned, Diane will never lay eyes on him again.
