Y&R Speculation: Cane’s Property Purchases Include the Grand Phoenix, Phyllis is BACK!!

Phyllis Summers is about to get what she didn’t know she wanted back… The Grand Phoenix. Phyllis hasn’t been the same since she sold her hotel to Lily Winters on behalf of Chancellor Winters & neither has Genoa City. Everyone who doesn’t have a home has a cookie-cutter suite at the GCAC. It’s about time Miss Phyllis gets her groove back & Genoa City residents have another venue to do what they do.

The Grand Phoenix Fell Through the Cracks, Into Cane Ashby’s Lap

As of late, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) could not be more desperate. She’s been running around Genoa City either dressed for work or for dancing, all unemployed & talking to anyone who will listen about her & her son Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) working for them. So far, almost no one cares & Daniel doesn’t want any part of it. Now Phyllis is stuck in France along with many of Genoa City’s finest & she’s almost the only one who doesn’t want to go home. She’s met Aristotle Dumas & he is Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). Hardly anyone is impressed by this drawn-out reveal, but Phyllis is, as she’s still desperate.

What Phyllis doesn’t know yet is that Cane Ashby has been buying up property in the heart of Genoa City & why wouldn’t one of those properties be the once very popular & successful Grand Phoenix? That property has been defunked since Phyllis sold it & Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) purchased in on behalf of what was then Chancellor Winters. Now that Chancellor & Winters have separated, the Grand Phoenix has fallen through the cracks & into Cane Ashby’s lap.

Phyllis Summers Launches Her Reboot Her Way

Young & the Restless fans have had enough of Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) failure to launch Abbott Communications. He was supposed to launch it in the style of Phyllis Summers before cutting ties with her & replacing her with Genoa City’s other infamous redhead, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). Now, Billy Boy & Sally are held up in France at the ‘Dumas Party’ along with Cane’s other guests, & he’s plotting his Chancellor takeover yet again, but this time using Cane as his means to an end. Miss Phyllis can let them. No one does a launch party better than Phyllis Summers & it’s her time to relaunch.

Cane Claims the Genoa City Athletic Club

The Genoa City Athletic Club is another property in the heart of GC that has fallen through the cracks. No one knows who owns it & no one knows who runs it. It’s a building of chaos without any leadership & many of Genoa City’s finest pot stirrers who live there full-time. With this property in limbo, why wouldn’t Cane Ashby acquire it? Right now, it’s surely the hub of Genoa City & the best place to keep track of what’s going on in town. Just ask Cane’s rebooted employee, Holden Novak (Nathan Owens), who is helping him secure properties in Genoa City. Holden has put in his time, bellied up at the GCAC bar & now will be transferring the relationships he’s been forging into his new role for Cane Ashby but without any questions asked.

Who better to run the Grand Phoenix other than Genoa City’s most infamous hotel proprietor, Phyllis Summers? Sure, she can run two properties & she can do it damn well. Between the two hotels, there has to be something for her son Daniel to do. Regardless, she can always bring back The Woman in the Green Dress.
