A character does not bring up an ex-fiance by name in the moments before accepting another man’s proposal because the dialogue needed filler. The writers room planted a seed. Wyatt Spencer is the seed.

Sally’s name is on contracts and headlines. Wyatt does not need a personal reason to come to Genoa City. He needs a business one. Genoa City is currently full of them.
