SHARON’S PARTY FOMO EXPLODES AS PHYLLIS SCORES HER SPOT

The look on Sharon Newman’s face said it ALL.

Picture this: You’ve just made the ultimate sacrifice. Canceled a romantic trip to France with your ex. Turned down an exclusive invitation to the mysterious Aristotle Dumas’ swanky soirée. All because your daughter needs you. Noble, right? Then IN walks your biggest rival, practically glowing as she brags about scoring an invite to that EXACT same party. The devastation! The regret! The absolute gut-punch of realizing what you’ve just handed Phyllis Summers on a silver platter!

And that’s exactly what went down at the GCAC on Monday’s episode (airing June 9).

The Ultimate Sacrifice… Or the Biggest Mistake?

Let me set the scene for you. Sharon Newman had everything lined up perfectly. A trip to Nice with Nick Newman. (And we all know what happened the last time these two traveled together to London — sparks FLEW!) An invitation to what’s being billed as THE social event of the year. A chance to maybe, just maybe, rekindle something with the man who’s been her on-again, off-again love for decades.

But then Mariah Copeland needed her mama.

Look, I get it. Family comes first. When your daughter is spiraling over some mysterious secret from her last business trip — something Sharon herself hinted was “way bigger than a one-night stand” — what’s a mother supposed to do? Of course she stayed home. Of course she put Mariah first.

But oh, the timing!

Because while Sharon was being Mother of the Year, Phyllis was busy scheming her way into that same exclusive gathering. And not just attending — she was BRAGGING about it. Right there in the athletic club. Right in front of Sharon. With that trademark Phyllis smugness that makes you want to throw something at your TV screen.

Daniel Romalotti Jr. tried to warn everyone that Aristotle Dumas was bad news. Did Phyllis listen?

Not a chance.

What Makes This So Much Worse

Here’s the thing that’s really twisting the knife for Sharon — and trust me, I saw it written all over Sharon Case’s face in that scene. This isn’t just ANY party. This is the party she was supposed to attend WITH NICK.

Their trip. Their romantic getaway. Their chance to recapture whatever magic they found in London.

And now? Now Phyllis gets to swoop in. Unencumbered. Available. Ready to work whatever Phyllis magic she’s been perfecting since the dawn of time. (Okay, since the 90s, but who’s counting?)

Nick even told Sharon he’d leave the door open for her to join if things improved with Mariah. Sweet gesture, right? But we ALL know how this plays out. By the time Sharon could even think about getting on a plane, Phyllis will have already made her move. Probably multiple moves. It’s like leaving a fox to guard the henhouse, except the fox is wearing designer heels and has a decades-long history with your man!

The Rivalry That Just Won’t Quit

Can we talk about the Sharon/Phyllis dynamic for a hot minute? Because THIS — this moment at the GCAC — is exactly why their rivalry has endured for literal decades. Just when they reach some kind of understanding (remember that whole kidnapping situation earlier this year when they were forced to work together?), something like this happens.

And it’s ALWAYS about Nick.

Always.

I mean, these two could probably coexist peacefully if there wasn’t a Newman man standing between them. But throw Nick into the mix? Add an exotic location and an exclusive party? Recipe for DISASTER.

The way Sharon just stood there, visibly unsettled as Phyllis gushed about her invitation… I haven’t seen Sharon Case play that kind of restrained devastation in ages. You could practically see the wheels turning. The regret sinking in. The realization of what she’d just given up — and more importantly, who was going to benefit from her sacrifice.

What Happens Next?

Here’s where things get REALLY interesting. Because you KNOW Sharon isn’t just going to sit back and let this happen. Not when Phyllis is involved. Not when Nick is involved. Not when there’s a mysterious party in France that could change everything.

Will Sharon suddenly decide that Mariah is “doing better”? (Amazing how quickly these crises can resolve when there’s competition involved!) Will she book the next flight to Nice and crash this party? Or will she stay true to her maternal instincts and miss out on whatever drama is about to unfold?

And let’s not forget — we still don’t know what Aristotle Dumas is really up to. Daniel called him bad news. There are hints of some major reveal coming at this party. What if Sharon staying home actually saves her from whatever chaos is about to erupt? OR… what if her absence means she misses the revelation of a lifetime?

Plus, there’s Mariah‘s secret to consider. Whatever happened on that business trip has her completely spiraling. We’re talking guilt over Ian Ward, mysterious flashbacks, emotional meltdowns in the park. If Sharon does abandon her daughter to chase after Nick, could that decision come back to haunt her?

The Bottom Line

Look, I’ve been watching soaps long enough to know that when one woman’s sacrifice becomes another woman’s opportunity, things are about to get MESSY. And when those women are Sharon Newman and Phyllis Summers? When the man in question is Nick Newman? When the setting is a glamorous party in the French Riviera?

Buckle up, soap fans. This is just the beginning.

Because mark my words — Sharon is not going to take this lying down. Whether she books that flight to France or finds another way to keep Phyllis from sinking her claws into Nick, this rivalry is about to hit a whole new level. The question is: Will Sharon choose her daughter or her man?

And honestly? After seeing that look on her face at the GCAC… I’m not sure even Sharon knows the answer to that question yet.
