Crimson Lights is open at all hours on Y&R, Esther’s stirring everyone’s pot except Tessa and Daniel’s, and those two are making out constantly.
HOW IS THIS COFFEEHOUSE ALWAYS THE LAST CALL IN TOWN — AND WHY IS NO ONE ASKING TESSA AND DANIEL ANY QUESTIONS?
TL;DR: Crimson Lights is open at all hours on The Young and the Restless, Esther Valentine is stirring everyone’s pot except Tessa Porter and Daniel Romalotti’s, and those two are making out like nobody’s watching. What is going on inside this coffeehouse?
Crimson Lights: The Last Call Nobody Asked For
Crimson Lights is too cute on The Young and the Restless, except for when it’s not.
How is this coffeehouse always the last call in town after any party, whether the party was cool or lame? Why aren’t people getting a nightcap at the local dive bar, the Empty Glass Lounge, or going home to wrap up the evening? Either option would be much more entertaining than a latte at midnight at Crimson Lights.
At least for Tessa Porter and Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei), Crimson Lights is THE PLACE to make out no matter what the time, so there’s that.

Esther Valentine Carries on the Pot Stirring
Before Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) only professional responsibility was Crimson Lights, besides her random psychologist gig, which never really made sense, she doubled down as a professional pot stirrer of the coffeehouse. Seriously, full-time stirring everyone’s latte just right to get people to react adversely to one another.
It would have made sense after Sharon developed Cassidy 1st after Cameron Kirsten’s (Linden Ashby) death to hire her daughter, Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) wife, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) to run Crimson Lights. However, making sense is not a priority on The Young and the Restless. So, Tessa ended up getting a General Manager job at Society, and Sharon hired Esther Valentine (Kate Linder), and now she stirs the pot full-time at Crimson Lights.
Seriously, almost full-time at Crimson Lights, Esther is stirring things up. In the morning, in the afternoon, and/or very late night, Esther is sticking her nose into anyone’s business who steps both of their feet inside the coffeehouse… Except for Tessa Porter and Daniel Romalotti’s business, yet she always doubles down on Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).
Tessa and Daniel Do Business at Crimson Lights Without Pay
Seriously, Tessa and Daniel have been spending A LOT of time at Crimson Lights. They either talk, play guitar, and/or make out. Daniel is STILL unemployed, so he’s got nothing but time, but Tessa supposedly still generally manages Society. How does Tessa have time to have unlimited free time with Daniel at Crimson Lights? Also, why isn’t Esther asking THEM any questions? She has her nose SO FAR up everyone else’s business, why not Tessa and Daniel’s, if nothing else, on behalf of her boss, Sharon, on The Young and the Restless?
