Phyllis & Phyllis 2.0 aren’t even in the same country but it’s clear 1.0 doesn’t want anything to do with 2.0 & vice versa. At least Phyllis took a break from Sharon Newman’s coffee house to have coffee elsewhere. Too bad Sharon Newman had impromptu lunch plans & crashed Phyllis’s party back. Little does she know her newest nemesis is soggy & between the sheets with her new boss in Ashley Abbott’s apartment in Paris. When things work out on Young & the Restless…
Just In Time for Valentine’s Day, Between the Sheets for Sweeps
Young & the Restless fans continue to be roughly split on how they feel about Genoa City’s newest couple, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) & Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) but soap opera fans have to take what they can get. It’s February sweeps & it’s just before Valentine’s Day. Sally & Billy Boy hitting the sheets after getting drenched while galivanting in Paris outside for just three blocks is something, but it isn’t everything.
Marchetti is on a Budget, Ashley Abbott on Business in London
The most loyal & active Young & the Restless fans know that it’s actually the soap opera itself that’s on a budget & they are trying to do their best to disguise this fact. This budget downfall since COVID has left Young & the Restless often without the most dramatic types of scenes soap opera fans have seen in the past. No one goes to court anymore. Only in the most extreme circumstances does anyone go to Memorial Hospital & if they do it’s for about a day of real-life time. Most of Genoa City’s elite live at the Genoa City Athletic Club & no one has seen the Grand Phoenix for years.
As of late, Young & the Restless fans are left wondering why Sally Spectra in Paris for business isn’t in a fancy hotel suite paid for by her employer Marchetti which is underneath the Jabot umbrella & its roof. Yes, it’s cute to see Ashley Abbott’s apartment again in Paris, but it would have been even more cute to see her host her brother Billy & his new girlfriend Sally.
Well, oops… Ashley Abbott is busy on business for Jabot in London. Um, when did Ashley Abbott go back to work again? Didn’t she just have at least three personalities before being admitted in & out of treatment to recover? Ashley never went back to the lab when she returned last to Genoa City. Ashley like the rest of the Abbott family was blind-sighted when it was revealed that her brother Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) & his wife Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) were faking an extreme break up & pending divorce to get Ashley’s nephew Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) back into Jabot.
So far we’re just halfway through February sweeps & the only things that have been swept are the obvious loopholes & timely conveniences into Young & the Restless fans & they have already caught onto & then some. Soap opera fans should not count their chickens before they hatch as there’s still half of the short month of February for something bigger to be swept.
