Young and the Restless spoilers Heather Stevens Lucy Romalotti mother daughter tragedy

Young & the Restless needs to begin making at least some sense some of the time. Who’s idea was it for Lucy Romalotti not to be included in her mother’s Celebration of Life/funeral? Heather’s father Paul Williams isn’t well & can’t attend. Daniel’s dad Danny Romalotti is doing just fine & he isn’t included either. Is Phyllis Summers really rushing Heather’s service to force a confession out of Sharon Newman?

Why on earth can’t Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) even be invited to attend her mother’s funeral on Young & the Restless? Who on the Y&R writing team thought this was a good idea? Or, is this a good idea to have Lucy’s grandma Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) coax a confession out of Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) in front of the service attendees without hurting Lucy as much as if she were there in person to see it? Regardless, Heather Stevens’ death is not going to sit well with Lucy & being away with Grandpa Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) can only help her so much. Lucy’s family may as well be forcing her to drink at this point.

How convenient that after learning this daughter Heather suddenly died, he had a sudden heart attack. Oh, & he will be fine but he’s not fine yet. So, why the rush to have Heather’s service? Young & the Restless fans know Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) is not coming back & that is the reason why.

So, Lucy isn’t invited. Heather’s dad Paul Williams is still recovering from his convenient heart attack, & now Danny doesn’t need to be in attendance. Seriously, who is running this funeral? The answer is Phyllis Summers & her mini-me daughter Summer Newman (Allison Lanier). Phyllis adores Lucy & Danny. She’s only had a problem with Paul when he was dating or married to The Bug/Cricket/Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell). Why wouldn’t Phyllis want to do everything in her power to make sure everyone closest to Heather would be able to celebrate her life? What’s the rush? Even Phyllis liked Heather. She personally traveled to Portugal to persuade her to return to Genoa City with Lucy to see about getting back together with her son Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) who is now charged with Heather’s murder.

Is Phyllis really scaling back the guest list to Heather’s service with the motivation to double down on breaking Sharon to confess to Heather’s murder? If so, it’s sad, but it makes sense in the world of Phyllis Summers.
