It’s apparent that The Almighty Victor Newman did not go through Nikki’s CEO responsibilities as the Chancellor Industries’ CEO as her resposibilites apparently include providing relationship advice to assistants. In fact, Nikki’s #1 assistant & newest granddaughter Claire is already in love with an Abbott, & that isn’t just any Abbott. He’s Jack Abbott’s son Kyle Abbott. Nikki Newman is in dire need of justifying her friendship with Jack & now she has the ticket & that ticket’s name is Claire Newman on Young & the Restless.

Has Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) lost her mind? Her husband Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) hates Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). The only hope of Victor letting go of his latest grudge against Smilin’ Jack is Nikki’s renewed business bond with their newest granddaughter Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) who is now dating Jack’s son Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Without the late Katherine Chancellor (the late Jeanne Cooper), Jack Abbott is Nikki Newman’s #1 BFF despite her on-again-off-again husband Victor Newman’s full-time hatred of him. How is it that Nikki decided to invite Jack Abbott to the new Newman Ranch for a visit? Victor somehow without Nikki or anyone else knowing living on the Newman property rebuilt the Newman Ranch after many years of Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) burning it to the ground. How does it make sense to invite over the man who built you one a castle #1 enemy for a visit? What about Crimson Lights, Society, the GCAC, or even the Abbott house?

As of late the Young & the Restless may as well go by “Everyone Loves Claire.” All of the Newmans & the Abbotts adore Claire now Newman. Even Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) does a fine job at tolerating her despite Claire now dating her ex-husband Kyle Abbott.
Speaking of Kyle Abbott, if one is going to love Claire, one is going to have to like the man she is dating even if he is an Abbott. It isn’t Victor Newman’s first day at pretending to like Kyle Abbott, so he’ll be fine there, but what about Kyle’s dad Jack Abbott?

Nikki Newman needs Jack Abbott as much as she needs vodka but she’s doing everything in her power to pick Jack Abbott. Even Smilin’ Jack knows that Nikki Newman wouldn’t mind rebooting her flask for a swig & here & there. The last thing Nikki Newman needs is an alcoholism reboot & the only one to save her is Jack Abbot who her husband Victor Newman hates. Enter… Granddaughter Claire Newman… Now dating Jack’s on Kyle Abbott.
So, here’s to Claire & Kyle & Nikki not drinking again… Especially if Kyle knocks Claire up. Then everyone but Victor Newman wins… Finally.
