The Young and the Restless
EXCLUSIVE MONDAY Y&R CANADIAN DAY-AHEAD: Matt Clark Dials Sharon Newman and Says Absolutely Nothing…So Why Is Everyone Suddenly Listening?
This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead sends Matt Clark dialing Sharon Newman without saying a word.
MATT CLARKโS SILENT CALL HAUNTS THIS Y&R CANADIAN DAY-AHEAD
TL;DR: This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead finds Matt Clark breathing heavily into Sharon Newmanโs phone and then talking himself into something ugly, while Nick Newman and Detective Burrows connect a car crash to the man nobody trusts. Meanwhile, Billy Abbott counts down to his wedding, Phyllis Summers buys the venue and Kyle Abbott and Victoria Newman discover the all-night problem with a secret apartment. Want the bigger picture? Our Y&R spoilers for the next two weeks have it all.

Matt Clark Calls and Forgets to Speak
This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead opens in a motel room, which is where all the best bad decisions in Genoa City begin. Matt Clark dials Sharon Newman, and then does what any mature adult would do: absolutely nothing. No hello, no breathing exercises, only a silence so loaded Sharonโs eyes start darting around her own home. Matt hangs up and informs himself he doesnโt want any of this drama, which is a bold claim from a man who just made a drama phone call.
Then the argument starts, and itโs with himself. He wants to know why he wished everyone happiness in the first place. His head hurts, he wonders what heโs even doing here, and he lies back to ask who these people think they are to judge him. All he gets in return is contempt and disgust. Naturally, itโs all Sharonโs fault. He flashes back to her telling him to leave town, decides that deserves a response and remembers she once admitted to terrible things and got forgiven anyway. Surely a woman who understands second chances will understand his.
Then he changes his mind. Sharon, he decides, would dance on his grave with a tray of raisin cookies. Leaving town didnโt work, and now heโs back. โHero time is over,โ he announces to nobody. That is one very quiet, very ominous pep talk, and the only audience is the mirror.
Sharon Newman Takes the Call She Canโt Place
Across town, Nick Newman drops by Sharonโs cottage to tell her about the crash. Sharon, who has been replaying that silent call, assumes it was Matt. She doubts he would come back now, but Nick doesnโt trust the man for a second. Sharon is the optimist, Nick is the realist, and both of them are about to learn how little that matters.

Burrows Arrives With Questions and a Crash
At Society, Adam Newman runs into his brother, and Nick assumes Adam is following him. He does not like it. Adam says Nick will have to deal with that, since no one is getting off his case just because he insists everything is fine. Nick is tired of getting a talking to from everyone he knows, and Adam reminds him that they worry because they care. Nick also points out that he already gave the police a statement.
Then Detective Burrows arrives, and the brothers accuse him of harassment. The copโs real reason for stopping by is a car accident involving Matt, and he knows neither Newman has bought into Mattโs redemption story any more than he has. Burrows suspects Matt wasnโt alone, and Nick admits he was likely with Patty Williams. A man and Patty in a car crash. What could possibly go wrong?

Billy Abbott Is Getting Married Tomorrow
Over at the Abbott house, Billy Abbott tells Jack Abbott how relieved he and Sally Spectra are. They convinced the baby to slow down, and nothing will stop him from marrying Sally tomorrow. Over coffee they talk about Coco Spectra, and Jack teases that Billy has eighteen more years of a kid to keep him humble. Billy admits things were weirdly cordial with Cane Ashby last night, and his brother assures him that he is loved. Everyone at the party was worried about him.
Jack says Billy deserves to be happy, and Billy thinks thatโs tempting fate. Jack asks him to stop thinking of himself as a screw-up and points out how good things have been since he backed away from Chancellor. Billy is determined not to ruin that, and Jack plans to hold him to it. Billy is sure Sally will help put his โdays of mayhemโ in the past. Famous last words usually come with a drumroll.

Phyllis Summers Owns the Place
At the GCAC, Audra Charles asks Coco what she thinks of Billy, and Coco says heโs sweet. Phyllis Summers pops up to meet Coco and predicts sheโll be dazzled by the city and never want to leave. She explains that the shine of the Abbotts wore off for her when she married into that family.
Then she announces she owns their wedding venue now. It will house all the โbiggiesโ but still have room for less dazzling locals. She adds that she will eventually have to kick Audra out, and that Arabesque is expanding, so they had better be nice before itโs too late. After Phyllis walks off, Coco asks if that was the โice bucket wish.โ Sally refuses to explain. Billy joins them, is shocked to hear Phyllis owns the club and hopes it works out this time. Phyllis gets defensive, though she and Billy insist they wish each other well. Audra suggests she brush up on her interpersonal skills if she wants good reviews. โSuggestion ignored,โ Phyllis groans.
Coco and Audra leave for their fitting, and Daniel Romalotti leads his mom away while Sally and Billy reassure each other. Billy gazes into her eyes, and she admits he still gives her butterflies. At their table, Daniel tells Phyllis heโs been thinking and โmaybeโ they should work together. She gasps and keeps repeating โokayโ like a woman trying to stay calm. He thinks she needs help protecting herself from herself, and she throws her arms around him. Daniel just became Phyllisโs new business partner and her newest project, which is the best possible description of the job.

Kyle Abbott and Victoria Newman Oversleep
At the secret apartment, Kyle Abbott and Victoria Newman wake up in the danger zone and realize they were there all night. โThis can never ever happen again!โ Victoria declares as she digs for her phone and is relieved there are no missed calls. Then she clarifies that they can happen again but the all-night part cannot, since this is not a โsleep together thing.โ
Kyle teases her about her discretion and decides they need a smokescreen. They should start hating each other, make a public display of it and be heated in private. Nothing says โweโre totally just colleaguesโ like a staged feud.

Nikki Newman Wants Details
At the Newman Ranch, Victoria chats with Nikki Newman about work. Nikki hopes she made the most of last night, since her teens will be home soon, which is a motherโs way of saying she suspects everything. They discuss the Vibrante marketing scheme, and Nikki asks if Victoria is having second thoughts about pulling out. Victoria says that because of the Spectra-Charles deal they canโt rely on Newman for press, so the Kyle and Jabot angle could work. Nikki would love to go after Jabot. Then Victoria complains about Diane Jenkins Abbott, while her daughter complains about Kyle. Mother and daughter share an enemy list, if not exactly the same reasons for it.

Jack Abbott Orders Fun
Back at the Abbott estate, Kyle arrives, and Jack notices he doesnโt look like he slept. Jack thanks him for helping with the roast, tells him how impressed they are with how hard he works and urges him to get a personal life. Kyle will keep that in mind. Kyle has been working very hard on a personal life, thank you.
