Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has been the voice of reason exactly never in his personal life, but today he’s taking a stab at it. He warns Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) about Cane’s (Billy Flynn) latest “project,” which could mean literally anything—business venture, shady scheme, or a new brand of protein powder that doubles as a pyramid scheme. Either way, Phyllis Summers is probably already knee-deep in it because telling her not to do something is basically guaranteeing she’ll do it twice and with extra flair. Nick, we appreciate the effort, but this is Phyllis we’re talking about. She thrives on chaos like The Great Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) thrives on smug smirks.

Kyle and Claire: The Awkward Olympics

Meanwhile, Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Claire (Hayley Erin) are out here competing for gold in the Awkward Olympics. These two can’t seem to find common ground if you gave them a map, a compass, and Google Maps with live traffic updates. Every time they talk, it’s like watching two people who showed up to the same party but somehow got the wrong script. Will they ever click, or are they destined to be Genoa City’s most uncomfortable duo since Kevin (Greg Rikaart) tried online dating? Stay tuned, but maybe don’t hold your breath.

Mariah Spills the Confession Tea

Over in Mariah-land, she’s got a confession to make. And when Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) confesses, it’s never something boring like “I ate the last cookie.” No, it’s usually relationship-shaking, life-altering, cue-the-dramatic-music level of confession. Whatever it is, expect jaws to drop, Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) to raise an eyebrow, and Sharon (Sharon Case) to sip her coffee like, “Here we go again.”

Drama Forecast: 110% Chance of Bad Decisions

Between Nick attempting to save Phyllis from herself, Kyle and Claire fumbling like teenagers at prom, and Mariah confessing who-knows-what, this episode has all the makings of a Genoa City classic.
