Nikki Newman, The Worst Best Friend Ever on Y&R

After almost 50 years of knowing Victor Newman on Young & the Restless, Nikki Newman hasn’t learned a thing. Well, maybe a few things, but not enough to be anyone’s best friend for better or for worse in Genoa City. The Almighty Victor Newman whisked Nikki off her feet all of those years ago, along with her empathy for others, especially her so-called friends.

So far, it seems the core reason for all of the pomp & circumstance for Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) birthday this year is to magically get The Almighty Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to approve & bless his new granddaughter Claire Newman’s (Hayley Erin) new boyfriend who happens to be an Abbott, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Victor has promised to provide his darling wife Nikki with a gift every day. Is this the twelve days of Christmas? What is going on? There has been zero mention of how old Nikki is turning in true soap opera fashion.  What is the significance for Nikki?…

So, Nikki’s granddaughter Claire is using her birthday with her endorsement as a pathetic means to get Victor’s approval of Claire & Kyle’s relationship. Victor has put thought into getting Nikki thoughtful gifts & she just has one useless wish. She asked Victor to wait until after her party to attack the Abbotts. What?!? Wait a minute. Isn’t Jack Abbott one of Nikki Newman’s most beloved friends? Did Jack Abbott not just save her life when her day-to-day diet was triple-distilled vodka only? Is her step-daughter Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) not an Abbott?

It’s past due for Nicole Newman to put both of her feet down with Victor. Her fees are accruing in Genoa City & will be up for collection at some point.

Nikki Newman Delegates Her Guest List to The Mustache

Now that Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) has finally quit being Victor Newman’s 24/7/365 fixer-upper above &/or way below board, Victor has an unlimited fresh amount of smoke puffing out of his ears. He is pissed… but doesn’t want to talk about it, but yet he’s talking about it.

Nikki Newman & Michael’s fabulous wife, Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bergman), have had a nice friendship… Mostly when it has been convenient for Nikki. In fact, if it weren’t for Jack Abbott & Lauren Fenmore, Nikki Newman’s recovery & life after her last losing her sobriety would have looked a lot different. It was Jack Abbott’s idea for Lauren to fill in for Nikki Newman as CEO of Newman Media. Lauren agreed. She still ran Fenmore’s & dominated Newman Media. When Lauren wasn’t running Newman Media or Fenmore’s, she would end up running into Nikki Newman here & there around Genoa City, needing help after too much of the triple-distilled & would do her damndest to take care of her.

Now Lauren’s husband, Michael, has finally decided to break away from Victor to put his wife & marriage first after all of these years & Nikki takes her husband’s side. Michael has been there & everywhere above & below for Victor Newman for many, many years. For Michael’s health, the health of his marriage, & their family, Michael needed to break free.

How dare Nikki Newman? If Victor Newman really did/does everything to protect his family, where was he for Nikki at her last worst? Jack Abbott & Lauren Fenmore last saved her.
