The Young and the Restless
Y&R Spoilers: Claire Newman Secretly Betrays Holden Novak With a Devastating LA Investigation
Claire Newman secretly uses Holden Novak’s LA trip to investigate Audra Charles’ deadly past. Will the Shadow Room truth destroy everyone involved? Y&R spoilers inside.
CLAIRE NEWMAN’S RUTHLESS LA OPERATION EXPOSES HER TRUE NEWMAN INSTINCTS ON THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
TL;DR: Claire Newman is secretly using Holden Novak’s Los Angeles trip as cover to investigate Audra Charles’ deadly past on The Young and the Restless. The reformed “good girl” is tracking a missing art dealer connected to The Shadow Room incident, and the truth she uncovers could destroy Audra, Holden, and her own relationship in one fell swoop.
The “Good Girl” Mask Just Came Off
Nobody in Los Angeles has any idea what Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) is really doing there. Not Holden Novak (Nathan Owens). Not Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver). And that is exactly the way Claire wants it.
On the surface, the trip looks innocent enough. Holden was dispatched to LA by Cane Ashby to track down Lily Winters and her children after Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) escalated the corporate war for Chancellor Industries into psychological warfare territory. Claire tagged along, telling Holden she simply wanted to spend more time with him.
That was the lie.
The truth? Claire Newman is running a full covert investigation into the buried secret that binds Audra and Holden together. And she is getting dangerously close to something that could blow their worlds apart.
What Is Claire Newman Investigating in Los Angeles?
Claire is chasing a lead that traces back to a nightclub called The Shadow Room. According to flashbacks from November 2025, Holden met Audra while bartending at the venue. A shady man who claimed to own an art gallery targeted Audra, and things escalated fast. Audra stole the man’s wallet and fled. She then asked Holden to plant the wallet back at the bar to make it look like the man simply left it behind.
But here is where it gets ugly. The man later accused both of them of scamming him when a $500,000 cashier’s check went missing from his belongings. Audra later sent Holden $100,000. That kind of money does not change hands between strangers for no reason.
And now? That man is gone. A missing art dealer with no public trail. Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) dropped enough breadcrumbs about the LA timeline to send Claire digging, and what she found was a gap in the story that nobody wanted her to notice. Reports suggest the incident goes beyond theft. Way beyond. The word floating around is that Holden accidentally killed the man during the confrontation, and Audra helped him cover it up, fabricate the alias “Damian Kane,” and disappear.
Why Is Claire Newman Doing This?
Because Claire watched Audra Charles kiss Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Because Audra has been trying to gaslight Claire into believing Kyle is the aggressor in their flirtation. And because Claire Newman is done playing defense.
Something shifted in Claire after that moment. The woman who spent months proving she was not her Aunt Jordan is now using every survival skill Jordan Howard taught her. Reading people. Hiding intentions. Running a long con while smiling across the breakfast table. The irony is almost poetic.
While Holden meets with private investigators about the Lily Winters situation, Claire is separately tracking down an art gallery owner in Los Angeles. She is following a money trail and a missing person lead, and she is doing all of it while sharing a hotel with the man whose secrets she is hunting.

The Trap Claire Newman Is Walking Into
Here is the part that should keep fans up at night. Claire cannot destroy Audra without also destroying Holden. The $100,000 payment. The fake identity. The missing man. Every thread leads back to both of them. So what does she do with the proof once she has it?
Option one: she confronts Audra privately and forces her out of Kyle‘s orbit. That protects Holden but leaves a potential killer walking free. Option two: she hands everything to Victor Newman, who would weaponize it without a second thought about collateral damage. Option three: she goes nuclear and exposes the entire thing publicly, torching her own relationship in the process.
None of those options are clean. All of them are very, very Newman.
What’s Next for Claire Newman, Audra Charles, and Holden Novak?
Could this mean Claire returns to Genoa City as the most dangerous Newman in the room? Don’t be surprised if the proof she gathers forces a confrontation that nobody can walk away from unscathed. Given Audra’s history of self-preservation at all costs, she will not go quietly. And Holden? A man who has already used one fake identity might not stick around to face the music a second time.
Something tells me the real explosion is not the secret itself. It is who Claire decides to tell first.
