TL;DR: EJ DiMera has told his assistant to fuel the jet and open the DiMera private island so Kristen can vanish. Lexie was on the floor when he said it, and she heard every word. Sophia Choi’s body was never found.

Kristen DiMera Begs Marlena Evans for Protection

Days of Our Lives spoilers put Kristen DiMera in the crosshairs, and the man taking aim is her own brother. On Monday’s episode, EJ DiMera told his longtime assistant Rita to fuel the jet and open up the family’s private island so Kristen DiMera could live out her days somewhere nobody would ever come looking. He never used the word kidnapping. He did not need to.

The fuse was lit by a phone call from his daughter Sydney, who mentioned that her aunt had arranged a little getaway for the two of them. EJ heard that and went somewhere cold. His sister had already recruited a teenager to murder his son. Now she was circling his daughter, and the negotiating was over.

Kristen felt the shift immediately. She went to Marlena Evans in a state, admitted she was terrified, and confirmed outright that EJ had threatened her. Then she asked Marlena to look after Rachel Black if anything happened to her. That is not a woman being dramatic. That is a woman putting her affairs in order, and our running coverage of the DiMera war has been building toward exactly this for weeks.

Have a take on whether EJ has finally gone too far? Write to our editor at amber@soapoperamagazine.com and make your case.

EJ DiMera Gave the Order in Front of a Witness

Here is the detail Salem is going to choke on. Lexie Carver collapsed during EJ’s meltdown, and she was coming to on the floor as he issued his instructions. She heard it. All of it. Lexie has also just told Marlena that she is dying again, because the drug that dragged her back is failing her.

Think about what that means. EJ DiMera arranged the tidiest crime in DiMera history and did it in a room with a dying woman who has nothing left to lose and no reason to protect him. Money cannot buy a deathbed witness. Neither can charm, and EJ has always leaned hard on both.

Is Sophia Choi Still Alive on Days of Our Lives?

Nobody knows, and that is precisely the point. Sophia Choi is presumed dead, not confirmed dead. Kristen struck her with a rock and had her thrown into the Salem River in May, and the authorities recovered blood and belongings but never a body. In this town, a missing body is a promise.

Remember what Kristen actually did to that girl. She recruited Sophia to kill Johnny DiMera, dangled a fortune and a new life in front of her, then made her write a suicide note before turning on her at the water’s edge. If Sophia crawled out of that river, she did not crawl out forgiving anybody. She crawled out shopping for a rock of her own.

Sophia Choi Could Beat EJ DiMera to the Punch

Don’t be surprised if Kristen vanishes and it has nothing to do with a jet. Circulating spoiler chatter is running hot on the idea that Sophia is out there waiting for her moment, and the timing would be exquisite. EJ builds a perfect exile, someone else grabs Kristen first, and every finger in Salem points at the brother who announced his intentions in front of Lexie and threatened his sister to her face.

My gut says the writers are enjoying this too much to make it simple. Reading between the lines, Lexie is the loaded gun on the mantel here. If she warns Kristen, EJ’s plan dies. If she takes it to her grave, Marlena still knows about the threat, and Marlena does not lose arguments. Either way, EJ is the name on everyone’s lips the second Kristen’s bed goes unslept in.

So who takes Kristen: her brother, or the girl she left in the river? Drop your prediction in the comments and let’s see who calls it right.

The DiMera Who Loses This War Will Never See It Coming

EJ thinks he is the smartest man in the room, which is the exact condition every DiMera dies of. He gave a kidnapping order with a witness on the carpet and a psychiatrist already taking notes, and he still believes he has covered his tracks. Kristen, meanwhile, has spent months acting like the river closed over her sins.

Neither of them is looking at the door. That is where this show does its best work, and we want to know which one of them you would save, if you would save either. Come argue about it with us on our Facebook page, where the DiMera family is never short of prosecutors.
