The Days of Our Lives recap September 17 2026 starts in Italy, where Sydney DiMera turned up at EJ DiMera‘s door hours before his flight home, having taken time off work to surprise him. Talk got around to Sami Brady and Dante Vitali, EJ mocked the length of that engagement, and Sydney told him it is mutual. Her mother will not rush again, and Dante wants her sure she has no regrets.

Belle Black and Chad DiMera knocked a minute later and the reunion was loud. Nobody could stretch the trip, Chad offered to hold the pilot for breakfast, EJ said no. He put his daughter on the plane to Salem instead.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Belle Black and Chad DiMera Left Rome Locked Behind Them

The two of them spent the morning packing. Marino’s house stood wide open the day before and was shut like Fort Knox now. Chad said the photograph had him missing the father he knew as a boy, and neither could drop the question of why Stefano wanted John and Marlena to learn Dominic exists. Belle wanted Cat Greene brought in, since Cat used to be ISA and Paul had run her story clean. Chad said no twice.

What Did Sydney DiMera Tell EJ DiMera About Sami Brady?

That Sami used to call him the love of her life. “Past tense,” EJ said. “Maybe present tense, too,” Sydney answered. She does not believe her mother will ever truly be over him, and still thinks Dante is good for her, which is what people say right before they pick a side.

Here is the part worth sitting with. EJ told Belle and Chad on September 4 that he was joining their flight to visit his daughter, then muttered that it was the perfect time for him to be in Italy. Six days later Marlena got a message placing Sydney on the French Riviera. The alibi he used to get himself near that chess set has now knocked on his door in person.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Theo Carver Almost Kissed Stephanie Johnson

At the Small Bar, Theo Carver told Stephanie Johnson he is always there to catch her, and that he knows what it is to want somebody he cannot have. Their heads were close enough that the next second was going to be a kiss. Paulina Price reached the table instead, and Theo was out the door inside a minute.

Hours later he found Lani Price in the square and led with the company, telling her he believes DiMera is doing illegal things and that his resignation letter is on Johnny DiMera‘s desk waiting to be found. He is certain Johnny has been lying, which is where Wednesday’s confession left him.

Then Lani told him it was probably not as bad as he thought, and the other thing came out. I almost kissed a married woman. He never said who, so Lani is carrying two secrets and knows the shape of one.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Paulina Price Wants Lani Price Pardoned

Paulina joined Stephanie once Theo bolted. Stephanie said Joy Wesley is paralyzed and is getting more of Alex Kiriakis than she is. Paulina’s answer was her own line and not ours: that sounds complicated, and it comes from a woman whose husband left her for his dead wife.

Then came what she actually wanted, which was public relations advice about Lani. She saw a light in Lani’s eyes when Lani took that mugger down, and she has never stopped feeling sick that Lani paid for protecting her. Now she wants a pardon from the governor, and Stephanie gave her homework first.

Leo Stark spent the same afternoon failing twice. He pitched Lani as episode one of a podcast about unsung heroes and she said no, then he sat Cat down and asked whether the ISA has a hand in the FDA circling DiMera Pharma. Cat denied it, said again she is not joining his campaign against EJ, then told him she used to be in the ISA anyway. She added that EJ already knows and she cannot read how he took it.
