Daphne Takes Her Surrogate News Straight to Steffy’s Father
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers October 1 fans have been waiting for are the ones Steffy has dreaded for two weeks, because they put her name right in her father’s ear. A glowing Daphne Rose Walton shares her baby news with Ridge Forrester and his wife, Brooke Logan. “The surrogate Carter and I have found is a remarkable woman,” she says in the promo. Then she tells them who that woman is: Steffy Forrester Finnegan, Ridge’s daughter with Taylor Hayes.
Previews say the reveal shocks Ridge and Brooke, and no wonder. Earlier previews split on whether Daphne would say the name at all, which is exactly what had Steffy sweating when Steffy panicked over Daphne’s big announcement. The newest Thursday preview settles it: an overjoyed Daphne fills them in on Steffy’s decision to be her surrogate. The rest of the week is in this week’s Bold and the Beautiful spoilers.
Here is what nobody in that room knows. Steffy is already pregnant. Her home test came back positive on September 10, and she believes the baby is Carter’s from one drunken night in August. The cover story from Carter Walton, the one Daphne is now repeating to Steffy’s own father, is that Steffy will be their egg donor and surrogate using her frozen eggs.

Why Ridge Forrester Is the Worst Person to Hear It
Ridge is not just any audience. On September 22, before John ‘Finn’ Finnegan left town, he asked his father-in-law to keep an eye on Steffy. The next day Finn shot the surrogacy down cold, telling Steffy it was “next level,” and headed off to a medical conference. Now Ridge is hearing about the plan from Daphne instead of from his daughter or her husband.
Previews say Ridge admires Steffy for helping her friends but worries about her, and that he plans to talk to her about it. No preview says when that talk happens. Steffy will not enjoy it whenever it comes, because the clock is against her. Counting from that August night, she is about eight weeks along by a doctor’s count on Thursday, and the procedure that is supposed to explain the baby hasn’t happened. That is the whole reason behind Carter’s push to make Steffy move now.
Who Is Daphne’s Surrogate on Bold and the Beautiful?
Steffy is. Daphne has known that since September 18, when Carter announced for Steffy that she would be their surrogate and donor, and three days later he told Daphne the eggs were already frozen. So any preview claiming Daphne never suspects her surrogate is Steffy has it backwards. What Daphne doesn’t suspect is that her surrogate is already carrying a baby, one Steffy believes belongs to Daphne’s own husband.
Reading between the lines, that gap is where one wrong detail could sink the whole cover-up. Ridge will want to know what Finn thinks, and Finn said no before he left. Whatever Daphne says about Finn, Ridge Forrester can check it with one phone call to his son-in-law. Every person Daphne tells is one more person who can ask the question Steffy can’t answer.
Will Warns Dylan as Katie Keeps Squeezing
Thursday’s other story belongs to Will Spencer, who cautions his girlfriend, Melissa “Miss” Dylan, about his mother’s demands. On Tuesday, Katie told Dylan to finish the job and land Zende for Logan if she wants to keep living the high life with Will, as our recap of Katie’s order to Dylan laid out. Will finally seems to see how hard his mother squeezes. Don’t be surprised if Dylan realizes that doing Katie’s dirty work could cost her the Forrester job she needs.
Steffy’s Doubts Arrive a Day Too Late
On Friday, October 2, Steffy raises her concerns about Carter’s plan. By then her father believes she is a generous friend with frozen eggs, and Brooke has heard the same story. Every one of her doubts gets heavier with two more people believing the story.
If I know these writers, the conversation Steffy dreads most isn’t with Finn at all. It’s with Ridge Forrester, who has been reading his daughter’s face her whole life. My gut says he sees the fear before he hears a single word.
