Lily Winters Gets News She Prayed She’d Never Hear Again
This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead opens at the GCAC with Nate Hastings and Stephanie Simmons mid-flirtation, joking about his bandaged hands and their many talents, when Lily Winters interrupts and asks to speak to her cousin alone. Nate walks Stephanie out, and the second he’s back, Lily tells him there’s a chance her cancer is back.
She gets scanned every year, and this time an enlarged pelvic lymph node sent her to Chicago for a biopsy. She doesn’t have results yet, and she’s scared. Nate reminds her that if it is malignant, catching it early matters, but Lily admits she hasn’t told anyone, not even Cane Ashby. Nate agrees that’s probably wise until she knows more, then gently pushes her to say all her fears out loud. She brings up Grace, a friend who beat cancer, got her life back, and was gone a year later. Nate reminds her medicine has come a long way and promises he’s with her every step. It’s a rare quiet moment in Genoa City, and it doesn’t stay that way for long.

Phyllis Summers Makes Cane Ashby an Offer He’s Heard Before
Over at Society, Phyllis catches Cane on his way to the bar and demands to know if they have a deal. He laughs at her nerve, since she’s the one who made the offer, then gets curious enough to counter with a tentative yes on the GCAC and the building across from Newman. He wants to know if she has a master plan or is simply winging it. Phyllis won’t reveal a single detail beyond her plan to change everyone’s lives, and warns him she’s coming for him and Chancellor next. Cane, delighted rather than terrified, tells her to go for it. Somebody should really check in on Cane.
Phyllis exits as Lily walks in, and Cane fills her in on selling real estate off to Phyllis, calling it excess baggage. He asks about her sudden Chicago trip, and Lily claims it was business and that she’s simply tired. Cane clocks that something’s off but doesn’t push. Meanwhile, Sally Spectra and Billy Abbott demolish giant salads while debating baby names, Billy floats “Cupcake” once Abby Newman delivers actual cupcakes, and Sally pitches Dylan while Abby says she’s looking forward to knowing her better.
The Newmans Argue Over How Much Truth Nick Can Take
At the ranch, Victoria Newman frets that telling Nick Newman about Marie’s overdose was a mistake, while Adam Newman insists he’d have found out anyway. Victor Newman breaks up the sibling squabble, and Adam drops a detail that changes everything: the cops found Marie in Nick’s bed the first time she overdosed. Victor orders Adam to find his brother before Nick does something dangerous, whether that’s using again or hunting down payback.
Nikki Newman begs Victor to promise everything will be okay, and he does, but Victoria isn’t buying it, and the two of them argue over whether they should have said anything at all. Victoria leaves feeling like she set a terrible example for her brother, while Victor and Nikki lean on each other, crediting Adam for holding the family together through this and quietly wondering if the truth was worth telling.
Nick Newman Refuses to Play It Safe
At Crimson Lights, Nick storms in and asks Sharon Newman if his old dealer, Joe, was back around. Sharon gasps as he explains that Marie overdosed and has no family left to turn to. She urges him to call the police instead of handling this alone, and while he swears he isn’t tempted to use, Sharon warns that chasing Joe could pull him straight back into that world. He insists he’s not going “vigilante.” Sharon says he doesn’t have to say it out loud for everyone to see it coming.
Adam arrives, relieved to find Nick and admitting the family feared he might be using again. He tries to talk his brother out of confronting Joe and pushes him toward the cops instead. Nick won’t hear it. He cares about Marie, and he refuses to let her suffering be for nothing.
