LUCY ROMALOTTI IS COMING HOME FOR THANKSGIVING, AND HER LAST TEEN STORY NEVER GOT AN ENDING

TL;DR: Lucy Romalotti is coming home for Thanksgiving, in the new head writers’ first month. Her last teen story, the 2024 crash with Faith, never got an ending. Johnny and Connor both noticed her in 2023, and Christian is a teenager now.

The New Head Writers Put Lucy at the Thanksgiving Table

The latest Young and the Restless spoilers have Lucy Romalotti coming home for Thanksgiving, and the teen scene has been quiet too long. Co-head writer Jamey Giddens shared a first look from the set on Thursday, October 1, 2026, captioned “Thanksgiving in Genoa City,” and Lucy is in it. She is not back yet. Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 26, and no air date has been announced.

Lily Brooks O’Briant still plays Lucy, and the photo puts her with Michael Graziadei (Daniel), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis), Michael Damian (Danny), Lauralee Bell (Christine) and Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren). Giddens and Dan O’Connor’s first episode airs Wednesday, November 11, so Lucy lands inside their first month. What airs next is in our two-week Young and the Restless spoilers.

As we reported when Lily Brooks O’Briant’s Thanksgiving homecoming was teased, Lucy has been off screen since Friday, December 20, 2024. That day she trimmed the Christmas tree with her dad, Daniel Romalotti Jr., and her grandmother, Phyllis Summers. She never left the family story. On September 3, 2026, we learned Lucy was pushing Daniel to start dating again.

Her Last Teen Story Ended in a Car Wreck With Faith

Lucy was at the center of the show’s last teen story, and it ended badly. She met Faith Newman on June 25, 2024, and wanted a best friend more than Faith did. On August 26, 2024, grounded, Lucy snuck out with a bottle and texted Faith, “I’m in trouble. Can you help me?” Faith came for her, reached into the back seat for a towel, lost control and hit a wall.

Both girls survived, and only Lucy had alcohol in her system. On September 6, 2024, Sharon Newman demanded Lucy stay away from her daughter. Weeks later Heather, the woman who raised Lucy, was killed, and Sharon was the one under suspicion.

On December 3, 2024, Lucy found Faith in the park and threw it in her face: “But hey, your mom is nice to you, so I guess that makes it all okay, right?” Faith left in tears. Sharon was cleared on January 31, 2025, but the girls never made peace on screen. Lucy Romalotti comes home with an apology she has never given.

Johnny and Connor Both Noticed Lucy in 2023

Here is the part fans forget. On May 25, 2023, at dinner at Society, Johnny Abbott and Lucy traded phone numbers while Connor Newman watched. Connor looked hurt that he had been left out. It was puppy love, and it never went further on screen.

Those two boys share a mother. Johnny and Connor are half-brothers, both sons of Chelsea Lawson. Johnny went back to boarding school in February, and Connor has not been on screen since January 2025.

When is Lucy Romalotti coming back to Young and the Restless?

Lucy is booked for Thanksgiving, which falls on Thursday, November 26, 2026, but no exact air date has been announced. CBS has not put out a casting release, so the proof is the co-head writer’s own set photo. That timing puts her about two weeks into the new era under Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor.

What the love triangle chatter misses is history. The talk online pairs Lucy Romalotti with the Newman boys, Christian and Connor, but Lucy and Christian have never shared a scene. The only teen romance the show ever planted for her was Johnny, in 2023. And there is a twist nobody is talking about: in 2011, Johnny’s father, Billy, and Victoria, the mother who adopted Johnny, briefly raised baby Lucy as their own.

Christian Is a Teenager Now, and Connor Is Looking at a Boarding School

The show has been quietly aging the Newman boys in dialogue. On August 7, 2026, Nick checked in on Christian Newman, who is now a teenager, and asked Adam to look out for him. Adam Newman is Christian’s biological father and Connor’s dad, so the boys are half-brothers, and Nick noted they are close. Christian has not been on camera since 2020, and no new actor has been announced.

On September 9, 2026, Adam took a call from a therapeutic boarding school Connor had contacted on his own. No decision has aired. And on September 25, Sharon told Nick that Faith is dating.

My gut tells me Lucy Romalotti is the first piece of a bigger plan. New head writers do not tease a teenager’s homecoming before their first episode airs unless they mean to build around her. Don’t be surprised if Faith is the first door Lucy knocks on. If I know these writers, the 2023 spark with Johnny is not finished either.

Should Lucy make things right with Faith first, or pick up where she left off with Johnny? Leave your verdict in the comments.

Lucy Is the Spark the Teen Scene Needs, and Faith Is Her Unfinished Business

Our take: Lucy is the spark, just not for the reason the chatter says. The story waiting for her is Faith and a crash nobody ever settled, and the only romance the show has actually planted for her is Johnny.

Team Faith says Lucy owes her an apology before anything else. Team Johnny says the 2023 spark deserves a second chance. Pick your side on our Facebook page.
