STEFFY FORRESTER AND THE FAKE SURROGACY LIE HAVE NO EXIT

TL;DR: Steffy Forrester’s fake surrogacy is getting messier on B&B, and the stars say nobody has an easy way out. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, Tanner Novlan, Lawrence Saint-Victor, and Murielle Hilaire shared their takes in an exclusive from Michael Fairman, with the full video conversation here.

Everybody Cheers While The Lie Gets Bigger

Nothing says happy news like a pregnancy confirmation that has everyone celebrating for the wrong reasons. On B&B, the bloodwork is back, Finn and his mother Li Finnegan have signed off on the results, and Daphne Rose is clinging to the friend she thinks is carrying her baby. The catch? Steffy Forrester is expecting Carter Walton’s child from a drunken night together, and the only two people who know are the very two lying about it.

The stars living through it are as floored as you are. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood says she never saw this twist coming, calls it a wild ride, and admits the cast is still deep in the thick of it. Lawrence Saint-Victor says his first reaction to Carter leaning on Steffy matched the viewers’ own groan, and he wants it known that, even though he writes for the show, he had zero part in cooking this up. Save the pitchforks for the character, folks.

Finn Is Collecting Breadcrumbs

Over in the husband department, Tanner Novlan is relieved the writers let Finn react like a real man with real feelings instead of a doormat. Will he piece it together soon? Not exactly, but Tanner hints that plenty of little clues are lying around, and he likes that Finn stops to pick one up and study it. Finn’s family is his whole world, so walking away would take a monster of a lie, and darling, this qualifies. When Steffy Forrester’s secret finally surfaces, the love in that marriage gets a serious test.

Then there is the fan theory that the baby secretly belongs to Finn, since nobody has run a paternity test. The cast says they have been handed nothing beyond what is on the page. Lawrence calls the story “wonderfully uncomfortable,” and warns that even a Finn-baby reveal would not be a clean escape hatch. The group also entertains a delicious possibility: that Finn and Daphne sense more than they admit and choose peace, since Daphne wants a baby so badly.

Murielle Hilaire adds a heartbreaking wrinkle. When Daphne walked out, it was never about love. She was crushed over being unable to give her husband a child, and her exit lasted only about three hours. Murielle wonders aloud whether, had Carter chased her to the airport, the whole Steffy mess might never have happened. Ouch.

Steffy Wishes She Had Led With The Truth

Jacqueline admits Steffy Forrester should have owned up right away, drunk, furious, hurt, and all. It would have been brutal, but coming off the Sheila Carter chaos, it would have forced Finn to look at his own choices. Instead, Steffy craved feeling safe, and Carter swooped in with a plan that sounded noble. In hindsight, Jacqueline calls it plain dumb, but now the pair has to lean in harder. She describes the work as exhausting, an emotional yoga session with tears and hysterics.

As for Carter, Lawrence adores playing the villain, though Carter sees himself as the hero. In his mind, he is saving two families and keeping a COO and CEO affair out of the tabloids. Finn might forgive. Daphne, he is certain, would leave. So the lie stays. Carter would think that, wouldn’t he?
